I woke early to the sound of my sister listening to her music. I climbed out of my bed and straightened the covers. I got dressed putting on a floral skirt with a white ruffled button down shirt with tall brown boots.
I brushed my hair and put it into a high ponytail before heading into the kitchen. I grab a plate of pancakes from my mom and sit down beside my sister.
After I finish, I climb out of my chair and my dad grabs his keys. I head to the car and pull open the door.
When we arrive at the office, they call me into the room with my dad. The measure my height and weight.
They don't say a word when they see the numbers, I'm not even paying attention. I do notice the nurse glance at my father, almost looking concerned, but it's hard to tell.
I then walk into a small room and wait a bit with my father until the doctor shows up. A tall, fairly lean man with dark brown hair and bright green eyes.
" Well McKenna we have something very serious we need to talk about." He says as he sits down beside me.
" Okay." I say.
" You... Well, are, too small. " He tries to explain.
" What?" I say, confused. I look down at my legs, seeing how weak and skinny they are.
" Your legs are very weak, and will cause you many problems in the future if you don't get your body mass up. You are 4ft 6in, and are 62pounds. You developmentally are very far behind compared to the average."
" Oh. " I say, feeling very bad about myself, and concerned about my health.
What am I going to do? I guess I was expecting this. My sister has a similar problem. She's also really thin, and small too. She's 4ft 10in, and is 74pounds. But she hasn't had a serious problem like me. She's the last one in her whole grade who hasn't had..... that, um, well, becoming a woman, thing yet.
Neither have I and all of my friends have.
Oh no I'm really worried about me now.
