"Hua? Are you awake?" Said Waipo through my doorway. There was no response. I heard her footsteps as she walked away into her room. I waited a couple minutes and, when I heard nothing, got up and went to see if everyone had gone to bed. Then, I snuck back into my bedroom and got everything I needed. I wrote a quick note and left.

"Li, time to wake up." Mama called. But she heard no response. "Li?" she called in question. She looked in and found the note.

I'm out to find Gege. There's no point in looking for me, for you will not find me. If you don't see me again, I want to tell everyone how much I love all of you. All of you. And if you do see me, I will have Gege with me.

Love, Li.

"BAI!!" Mama exclaimed. "What is it?" he asked. Mama handed him the note for him to read. "What is this?" Baba asked. "It's from Li." Mama replied. Baba read as his eyes got wider and wider. "How could we let this happen?!" Baba yelled at himself. "First Shan and then Li in the same night!" He was tearing up. "It's okay." Mama said in her soothing voice. Baba went to sit on my mat and Mama followed. Baba then buried his face on Mama's shoulder.

I was tempted to go back, but knew I couldn't or I would have failed Shan and myself, and I couldn't do that. No matter what happens I will at least see my brother one last time. As I was thinking, I ran into one of the red guard. I bowed apologetically as he asked, "Do you have the Little Red Book with you?" "Oh, of course." I said as I fumbled in my bag to find the book I so desperately needed. As I found it, a rush of joy surging over me as I handed the man the book. "Ok, you're good to go. But don't let that happen again." he told me. "Yes sir." I replied, bowing once again and walking away, making sure to look where I was going.

Where is the jail? I was wondering. Then, I stumble across it. This gigantic building and men with guns walking on top of it. Wow. How am I supposed to get in there? I thought as I looked for any entrances. Only one. This should be fun. I go to find somewhere to be until the sky gets dark and the street becomes empty. I found a street corner that looked safe enough and huddled down to fall asleep. I watched the people walk by, seemingly not noticing me. Everything blurred around me as I dozed off.
