I awoke to the sound of a muffled sound. I slowly opened my eyes and saw that the woman struggling against the chains that surrounded her and held her hostage upon the wall. I started to slide away, but realized how badly my hand hurt when it touched the cold ground. I looked at my hands, but it was too dark to see. I curled back into a ball and started to fall back into a deep sleep when the gate opened. I looked up as the red guard started to pull the chains off of the woman. I slid to the wall, making sure that I was far out of her reach. They started walking out, when she got out of their grasp and came straight for me. I cringed on the wall, making myself as flat as possible. They grabbed her and pulled her back, but not before I felt a stinging sensation on my cheek and realized that she had scratched me. It hurt terribly, but I didn't let her win by showing her my pain. She half walked and half got dragged out of the small room. I hoped that I wouldn't see her again. The room started to go dark again as I fell asleep.

I awoke to dusk settling in. I sat up, and looked at my hands. There were giant blisters on my palms. But I put them down, not thinking about it. I looked out the small window and tried to look at all of the people walking by. I stood up, trying to see them better, but my legs were too weak for me to stay up too long. All of a sudden, the iron gate was getting shook by someone. I looked at the gate and saw Cheng, standing there trying to get in. I looked around to make sure no one was watching and whispered angrily at him, "What are you doing here!" "I'm here to save you." he said, as I heard footsteps coming down the hall "You have to get out of here before they catch you!" he looked down the hall, and his eyes got wide. "I have to go, but I will be back." he said as he ran away. One of the red guard walked in, unchaining me and dragging me away. As we left the room, I looked down at my wrists and saw how red and swollen they were. But I put that thought aside and looked up when we entered a slightly bigger room. It was the same width and length, but it was much taller, with a window up high on the wall leading into the hallway. I got strapped into a wooden frame and another man came into the room holding a whip. He made me look at him as he proceeded to hit me with it. I looked away from him and looked at the window, seeing a figure watching me. It was Cheng, staring wide eyed at me. I became wide eyed too as I mouthed at him "Go." He mouthed back to me, "I'm coming down there." he mouthed back. I was about to mouth to him when he suddenly ran away. Oh no. Not another one dead on my behalf. All of a sudden, the painful sensation stopped as I started to become unchained.I kept a watchful eye to make sure that he would be okay. Please let him be okay. I thought to myself as I was willingly being lead back to my cell. I got locked up again as fatigue slowly washed over me. I fell to the ground, my dress poofing out around me. My face felt warm against the cold surface of the ground. The room started to turn black around me as I slowly fell asleep.
