"Where have you been?" Damon asked as soon as I walked through the doors.
"I was assisting Niklaus." I told him, sighing. "We found Katherine's daughters great-great-great-etc.-granddaughter, and we are now keeping an eye on her. Niklaus has sent one of his hybrids to watch over her and her family until the time comes when he will need them."
Damon sighed and sat down in the living room, glass of bourbon in hand. "I know I told you I would allow you to be friends with them." he took a drink of his glass. "But, not if you're just going to be whisked away by them. You didn't even tell us where you were going, Rory." he looked up, eyes sad. "What happens if the big bad wolf kills you?"
"He wouldn't hurt me, Damon." I said quietly as I sat down next to him.
"Yeah, that's what you think right now." he chuckled darkly, taking a drink. "But, what if he does."
"Damon, Rebekah won't let him hurt me." I told him, rubbing his back.
"Aurora, you don't understand." Damon snapped, looking up at me. "They're cold blooded monsters. They don't actually care about anything. What don't you understand about that?" He looked into my eyes. "Don't tell me. Have you fallen in love with them?"
"No!" I exclaimed, standing up. "Is it wrong that I like seeing the good in people? Damon, is it so bad that I enjoy having friends?"
"Not if you fall in love!"
"I'm not in love!" I screamed. There was a surge through me, and Damon was thrown against the wall, his glass hitting the ground with a smash. He looked up at me with wide eyes, as I looked at him with the same expression. "I-I need to go." I said quickly.
I raced out of the house as Damon called my name.
"Aurora, what a surprise." Klaus said as he answered the door.
"Can I speak to Rebekah?" I asked, looking over his shoulder. He leaned against the door frame and smirked at me.
"Why not speak to me?" Klaus asked.
"Please." I said, looking into his eyes. "Let me speak to Rebekah."
"Or what?" he asked, crossing his arms.
"Nik, are you bothering my friend?"
"Rebekah." I breathed out, stepping into the house. "Can I talk to you?" I looked over Klaus, then added, "Alone."
"This way." Rebekah said, looking at Klaus. I followed her up to her room, where she then closed the door. "Okay, what's the matter."
"I used magic." I groaned, sinking onto her bed.
"Isn't that a good thing?" she asked, sitting next to me.
"I used it on Damon." I told her bitterly.
"Still not seeing the problem here." she told me, chuckling. I threw a pillow at her head and she laughed as it bounced off. She flew backwards on the bed and laughed even harder as she fell off.
"Beka." I groaned, holding onto the word. "I just... I can't let them know about my magic yet."
"Why not?" she asked, getting up.
"They'll want me to find a way to... kill you guys, and I can't do that." I looked down at my hands. "Look, I have to go back. But, I'll talk to you in school tomorrow, okay? I mean, I need to catch up a weeks worth of homework."
"Okay." she nodded.
"Bye, Rebekah."
"Goodbye, Aurora!" she called out as I left her room.
