Chapter Sixteen

Autumn

*2 weeks later*

" Hey Autumn can you do me a favor? " I heard Jessie's voice as I was trying to finish up a paper due today. " Uh depending on what it is. " she walked in setting 5 folders on my desk " Well we have five interviews today, 3 are for interns and there's paperwork on my desk . If you could get that done for me it would help alot please and Thank you " she said staring to walk out.

Lifting up my head I gave her an are-you-serious look. " Wait why can't you do it? " she turned putting her hand on the door nob " I gotta a meeting downtown in an hour then another presentation and yada yada yada." She rambled.

" Okay Okay go I don't want you to be late . I'll.. I'll take care of it. " I picked up the folders following her towards the elevator going down to the 5th floor. " Have you seen Cole in the past two weeks? "

" No he's been on a business trips. Why? " I rose and eyebrow at her. She just shrugged. Finally I got to the fifth floor and nodded at her. We've been becoming more like business partners rather than best friends. We only  talk to each other when we need something that relates to paperwork.

" Autumn your 3:00 interview is here" Tori told me as I nodded at her " thanks. Oh can you cancel my 5:00 meeting tomorrow and give it to Jess."

" Will do. " she smiled at me then going back to her work. Yeah this is the usual now. Less talking more working, we used to talk about anything and everything. Now this office is one of...Those offices who doesn't do anything but work, barely any celebrations, or..fun.

" I need a vacation." I said to myself before going into the conference room to get ready for my interviews, looking over the candidates we'll be adding to our company.

Aaron Rodgers and last but not least. Colton Haynes.

I'm pretty sure my eyes literally bulged out of my scull when I seen his name. Maybe its another person named Colton Haynes. Hopefully. Oh god. What if it is him. This would probably go really bad because of how much of a prick he is but I'll try to control myself from blessing him out if he steps out of line again like the last time we've met.

I got through the first four and now its the last one in dreading to face. They were all very mature and professional which I like and they're all qualified.

" Here you are. " Krissy's voice was faint behind the closed door so I'm guessing he's here. I deeply took in a breath the exhaled as she opened the door signaling him to come in. My face hardened at the sight of him especially the way he was checking Kris out while she walked away. I cleared my throat snapping out of his little trance.

" Autumn? Didn't expect you to be the one who's gonna interview me." He smirked at me. I stood up holding my hand out "this is my company and It's Ms. Diaz to you. " his eyebrows perked up while a smile grown on his face. " My apologies Ms.Diaz." He took my hand, leaning down placing a soft kiss on my knuckle. Slowly I yanked my hand from his flicking my bangs out of my face as we both sat down.

" So Colton what makes you want to work here? " I clasped my hands together watching his body language. Body language tells alot about a person and their attitude. Which his doesn't give off a saturating vibe but that's just my opinion.

" I heard that you're company has an impeccable engineering team so I wanted to use my skills here. " I nodded slightly impressed with his answer.

" Do you have a subdual criminal history or are you in amy criminal activity?" He looked stunned when I asked him that. " Uh Yes but no." I pushed my glasses up laying my hand flat on the table.

" Explain."

" Me and a couple of friends where walking around and one of my friends got into a fight with some guy, they ran off afterwards so I was the one who took the fall when the police were called so I spent 5 years of my life in juvenile then prison for harassment, and first degree murder" he shrugged explaining what happened in little detail. My eyes widen when the word ' murder ' came out of his mouth.

" He died when he got to the hospital so that's it." He said playing with his fingers. He took the fall and had 5 years of his life taken away for something he didn't even do. " how old were you? " I softly added.
" Almost 16. " he looked at me through is eyelashes. " I'm sorry." I gave him a small smile, he nodded in return.

" So. Um. Are you here for the internship or the actual job?" I'm just making it up as I go. " Job. I thought about the internship but I rather just work here since I already have the skills for it. Minds well put them to use." I nodded.

After a few more questions the interview was finished. And told them they would be hearing from us shortly. Colton walked beside me to the door " it was nice seeing you again MS. Diaz. Hopefully more often. " he flashed me a pearly smile. I nodded returning a small one. As he was the last one to walk out, my world on legs came in. Looking a bit annoyed and angry when he did.

" Heeyy how'd it go? " I asked wrapping my arms around Coles waist. " what was HE doing here? " clearly he wasn't fond of Colton being here. " Job interview. " he looked suspicious but hesitantly nodded.

" You didn't answer my question. " I pulled him closer making me have to put my head back to look at him. " Boring as hell. I couldn't wait to come back to see my beautiful girlfriend that I was thinking about the whole time. " he grabbed my face kissing my forehead and the tip of my nose. " Okay. What is it obviously something good happened while you were gone." I smiled up at him. He shook his head then gave me a big long kiss. " I missed you that's all. Not seeing you for TWO weeks was torture." I giggled.

" I bet it was." I grabbed his hand walking to the elevator heading to my office dragging him behind me. " So did you think about what you wanted to do for our 2 month anniversary? " Cole asked me pecking the side of my neck from behind. Flashbacks of the dream that I had came back to me instantly.

I shook my head from the thought. " Wow two months already? Where does the time go? " I turned around, wrapping my arms around his neck. He didn't look to happy when I said that. Oh no he probably thinks I forgot. Which is partially true but I didn't.

" I mean since we've been have such a good time together and then work it just came pretty fast. " I explained rubbing my hands up and down his chest to reassure him. He nodded kissing my forehead.

" Do you wanna get going then? " I nodded and walked towards my office to grab my stuff before leaving. I can't believe its actually been two months since we got together. It's amazing how much time flies when you're having fun and working.

We walked our of the building, hand in hand to the parking lot. I turned towards him sighing " I just remembered I have to go to a board meeting in an hour." Using my pointer finger and my thumb I sighed rubbing my temples. Being the CEO is tiring and stressful. I have no idea how my mom, dad, Cole, or Jessie could do this, plus I have another collage project to work on.

Cole pouted sticking his bottom lip out. " Can't you skip it just for today."he whined throwing his head back, like a little boy would when I doesn't want to do chores or something. I tilted his chin down to look at me.

" Oh you'll be fine, its just for a couple of hours and then for the rest of the evening I'm all yours." I smiled up at him, bopping his nose with my pointer finger, his eyes crossed at look at his nose. I giggled standing up on my tippy-toes to give him a quick peck. When I pulled away he glared down at me lips.

" What? " I frowned.

" Next time you give me a kiss, or..whatever that was make it a real one yeah? " I rolled my eyes, grabbing his face and smashed my lips into his making it last a bit longer than the first one. I go to pull away but he deepens the kiss, making me smile. " Oh get a room " I heard Jessie's voice. I pulled away causing Cole to groan and whine.

" Well I gotta go ill see you guys later. " I waved at them both before walking to my car. I deeply groaned as I pulled out of the parking lot into heavy traffic. I'm gonna be late
