"Do you even know how to cook?" I asked curiously, eyeing him as he began to pull what looked like random foods from the cupords and fridge. He laughed and turned to where I sat perched on the counter.
"You know, I was human at one point." He chuckled moving so he stood in between my legs. "Don't you trust me?" His breath fanned across my lips making me involuntarily move forward.
"Of course I do." I whispered, fearing that if I spoke any louder I would break whatever moment we were having. He stared into my eyes for a few seconds before leaning in a bit more, as if testing my reaction to what he was about to do. My breath hitched in my throat as he slowly but surely began to inch forward until our lips were a mere centimeter apart. "I trust you." I repeated, and just like that -as if it were all he needed was those three words- he leaned the rest of the way in, capturing my lips in his. As if on instinct my hands flew to his perfectly styled hair, and ran my fingers through it. I didn't know how much I'd been craving another kiss from him until that moment, and I realized that it wasn't so much I'd been craving his lips on mine, as just the want to be close to him. It seemed odd to me, as I had only known him for about three weeks, but I suppose it was alright, because after all he had -more then once now- saved me. I let a small smile fall on my lips. Liam smiled too, and soon it wasn't so much of a kiss, just us smiling against the others lips.
"What are you smiling about?" Liam asked, as I opened my eyes -that I hadn't realized I'd closed- to find Liam staring at me. He hadn't exactly pulled away so he was just talking against my lips.
"Nothing... I just....I just really like you." I blushed turning away and leaning back. Not a second later there was a hand cupping my cheek, turning me to face him.
"You shouldn't." He frowned.
"But that doesn't change the fact that I do." I countered, making him smile a bit.
"I guess it doesn't." I grinned at him and he leaned in to kiss me again when my stomach growled. "Sorry. I should probably get back to making your food."
"Thanks." I smiled up at him. "So when is Zayn going to be back?"
"I don't know, it could be any time really. We don't really keep tabs on where the other is going unless they're not coming home. But I could call him after you eat." He explained as he began to cook.
"Oh alright." I watched in amazement as he seemed to move so fluently, so sure that he wouldn't make a mistake. "You know how in Twilight the vampires have superpowers and enhanced senses?" Liam hummed in response. "Do you?"
"Well Stephine Meyer got the super senses right, but no we don't have super powers." He answered while chopping some vegetable I failed to notice he grabbed. "We don't sparkle in the sun; we can sleep; we can eat human food although, and it does somewhat satisfy the hunger for blood but not fully; we don't have to breath; our hearts don't beat; it is easier to turn someone if they're dying; drinking animal blood is about as effective as eating dirt; I'm almost positive we can't get a human pregnant, but then again I don't know; vampires can get pregnant but there's just more of a risk for miscarriage; and we don't have anything like the Volturi -that I know of anyway. Did I clear all your questions?" He smirked.
"No." I pouted. "How the fuck do you know so much about Twilight?"
"I hav- had," He sighed. "Two sisters that were obsessed with Twilight and made me read the books and watch the movies."
"Had?" I questioned hesitantly, not wanting to push anything. Liam glanced back at me before sighing and going back to work.
"As I said before it's easier to turn you if you're on the brink of dying, and Zayn has been a vampire longer then I have. I met Zayn a few years before I became a vampire, we were instant best friends, but I didn't know what he was. We were driving back from a trip to the beach and it was raining. My mother was driving, one of my sisters -Ruth- was sitting in the passengers side, my other sister -Nicola- and Zayn in the middle row, and I -with the stuff we couldn't fit in the trunk- in the back. As I said it was raining and so it was hard to see... There was a truck coming our way around a tight corner and the driver couldn't slam on the breaks fast enough so he collided with us. I only survived -barely- because I was in the back and I had a bunch of pillows surrounding me. Even with all that I had five broken ribs, a broken wrist, leg, knee, three fingers, and six broken toes. I was hanging on the edge, and Zayn grabbed us all out trying to save us but it didn't work for all of them, only me. Zayn and I were both crushed because everyone we knew was dead. Zayn had already been through this but, he'd also grown quit attached to us, I sometimes feel worse for him then I do myself. I mean he lost two families, I only lost one..." By the time he was finished I was crying, he'd finished cooking and was putting it onto a plate.
"That's terrible Li... I mean I don't talk to my family but at least I know there always there. I couldn't imagine what that must feel like, having them ripped away so fast like that." I put my face in my hands as my heart clenched at the thought of the pain he had gone through.
"Are you alright love? I'm sorry I shouldn't have told you that. Shh. Please don't cry." He soothed, hugging me close and caressing my hair.
"No... No, I'm glad you did." I sniffled, trying to calm myself. "I feel like I know you better... And sense you had the guts to share that with me I'll tell you the whole reason to why I'm hiding from Darren." I put on a brave face and pulled my face away from where it was comfortably resting against Liam's chest.
"Alright, if you want, but only after you eat." Liam muttered, brushing some hair out of my eyes, as his other hand pushed the plate of pasta towards me.
"Thank you Liam." I smiled, leaning up, meaning to peck his cheek but instead got his lips. I froze, this was the first time I'd initiated the kiss -not that I meant to but still. He smiled softly against my lips, showing me it was fine. With that reassurance I slowly began to move my lips with his.
