This is part 2/4 of Ambrosian Waste Disposal.

As always all characters and plot belong to RobThier .

I continued on with my work, occasionally asking for Mr Linton's assistance regarding a file or other slight issues that construed me into needing a secretary.

As the day progressed, I noticed Mr Linton seemed to be slower responding than usual, it was getting rather annoying, I wasn't paying him to waste my time after all.

Mr Linton,

Bring me file 35X119.

Rikkard Ambrose

I waited, he didn't respond, in fact I didn't even hear him get up. Nothing out of the ordinary.

Mr Linton,

Hurry up.

Rikkard Ambrose

Again I waited, but he didn't reply, nor did he get up. That was strange, usually a warning got him up straightaway. Unless he's day dreaming again, typical of a ..... man. You could never depend on one.

But what if something's wrong?

A nasty little voice in my head said, I ignored it, a more plausible assumption would be that the business we discussed earlier was disturbing him again. But then why didn't she... he just come to my office and relieve himself.

Probably because she's terrified of having to bring that topic up again, she probably thinks she'll lose her job.

There was that annoying voice again, it sounded very familiar... in fact it sounded like her.

As much as I hated to admit it,  the voice did have a point, in retrospect Mr Linton wasn't a generally shy person, but everyone has their moments I suppose. This was frustrating.

Mr.Linton,

Taking into account your negligence in answering my messages, I must assume that something is the matter with you. Is it the same business as earlier today, the business we are never ever going to talk about anymore?

Rikkard Ambrose

She answered this time.

Dear Mr Ambrose,

No, that business we are never ever going to talk about again is not a problem -- at least not yet. I am sorry for my negligence. I will bring the files immediately.

Yours Sincerely,

Miss Lilly Linton

I could feel her smile in what she wrote. My finger twitched at that and  her flowery language, a waste of perfectly expensive ink. Why she persisted in calling me dear I didn't understand.

But you like it.

Ignoring the voice, I pondered,  if  that wasn't the problem, then what was? It must be personal or else it wouldn't bother her so much, but she could deal with that on her own time, not mine.

I still hadn't received the file, whatever was bothering her must be disturbing. Realizing I would get no peace until I knew what was wrong, I  silently groaned and picked up another piece of paper.

Mr Linton,

If that is not the problem bothering you, what is the matter?

Rikkard Ambrose.

Her reply unnerved me,

Dear Mr Ambrose,

Careful, Sir. People might start to think you actually cared if everything goes well in my life.

Yours Sincerely,

Lilly Linton

Was he insane, why ask that, of course she was.

But she's right. That's why you can't remember that she is supposed to be he.

Now I was doubly confused, I took a deep breath and responded to her outrageous notion, as if I cared what went on in her personal life.

But you do.

Be quiet.

Mr Linton,

Care? Do not be ridiculous. I simply need you to work efficiently, without distractions.

Rikkard Ambrose

That should set his idiotic ideas straight.

It's really nothing. Really, really nothing. Don't concern yourself with the matter. I am sure you have more important things to do.

I looked at her response and immediately realized something was very wrong with her. She wrote clearly and to the point, without embellishments. Something was very wrong.

And nothing is more important than her right now.

I  wrote back quickly,

Tell me.

And again she refused to give me an answer. This was a complete waste of time.

Dear Mr Ambrose,

As I said, It is nothing. Please do not concern yourself with my petty troubles.

Yours Sincerely,

Miss Lilly Linton

She wasn't going to answer me through pneumatic tubes, that much was apparent. I signed internally I suppose I didn't have a choice.

I got up and walked to the door, unlocked it, and saw his startled expression. Why Mr Linton did you think you could get away with disturbing me and not explaining the reason?

'Tell me,' I ordered.

Sorry I know it's a bit short but if i continue i feel like this chapter would be too long. Anyway have you heard the news? Sir rob announced the title of the sequel!!!!!!!

Its to be called....
