Chapter Four
________________________

I got to work a little earlier than usual after dropping off Diamond at school. I set my bag down on my desk then checked my agenda for the day.

"Hey, Brooklyn!"

I looked up to see Jennifer standing in front of my desk.

"What's up, Jenn?"

"Nothing much. How are you?"

"I'm fantastic." I said with a smile.

"Oh really? What's been going on?" She asked interested.

"Just some guy I met."

"Is he cute?"

"Is he?! Gorgeous! But let me start this work, I'll tell you more about him another time."

"Can't wait." She said with a smile.

Jennifer strutted away down the hallway as I opened my work email. My day moved really slow as I waited for my date with Diggy. Because this is my first date in a very long time, a bunch of different emotions ran through my body. I just didn't want this to be another waste of my time.

It was almost time for my lunch break and I decided to quickly go to the bathroom to check my makeup and hair. After touching up my makeup and taking a quick mirror selfie, I shoved a stick of peppermint gum in my mouth and went down to the lobby to wait for Diggy.

After about what seemed like a two minute wait, I noticed an all white BMW M5 pull up to the front of the building. Moments later, I see Diggy step out with a bouquet of flowers in his hands.

As he walked around the car and found his way over to me, I noticed  my cheeks gradually getting warm. I stood there in disbelief as he handed me the flowers.

"Diggy, these are beautiful! This is so sweet of you!" I said while taking the flowers.

"It was no problem." He said with a smile.

I shifted the flowers to my left hand and hugged Diggy using my right hand, smelling his cologne in the process. He opened the passenger door for me and closed it after I took a seat. As he walked around to the drivers seat, I couldn't help but admire his car.

"I can see you're winning in the car department." I commented.

He chuckled and turned on the car.

"Yeah, all I can say is I'm blessed."

"Good to hear." I smiled.

After about what seemed like a five minute drive, we pulled up to a red lobster.

"I hope you like sea food." He said while putting the car in park.

"You're in luck 'cause it's my favorite."
