The rest of my work day seemed to be a blur as Diggy was the only thing on my mind. It was hard to get any work done when you've rejected a kiss from one of the cutest guys you've ever laid your eyes on and reveal your past to a new friend. I was just a complete mess and all I needed was a nap.

"Hey, Brook."

I looked up to see Bella and Jennifer standing in front of my desk.

"Hey guys." I said with a small smile.

"We just wanted to say we're sorry for how we came off. Kate told us you've had bad experiences with men and we just wanted to apologize." Bella said.

"You guys, it's okay, really. How were you guys supposed to know anyway? I understand." I said.

"Thanks, Brooklyn. But you don't look too good, I think you should go home early before you pass out." Jennifer stated.

"I think that's a really good idea. We don't need an ambulance outside the building." I chuckled. "Thanks for being good friends guys; I really appreciate it."

When I picked Diamond up from school, her teacher was telling how great she's been doing these past couple of days. So to reward her, I decided to take her out for ice cream after school.

"I'm so proud of you, D." I said while pulling up to the ice cream shop.

"It's Friday and I get to have ice cream. This is the best day ever!" Diamond enthused in the backseat.

I helped her out of the car and held her hand as we walked into the ice cream parlor. After I ordered a classic vanilla cone and Diamond ordered a banana split, we sat down to enjoy our ice cream.

"Thank you for the ice cream, Brook." She said while licking her lips.

"No problem baby, you deserve it."

After sitting down and having a small chat with Diamond, I felt a lot better over what happened today. As Diamond and I were getting ready to leave the store, I got a call from my girl Bria.

"Hello?"

"Hey, girl! How's it going?"

"Eh."

"What's wrong?"

"I'd rather say it when I'm alone."

"Oh okay."

"But what's up?"

"I need to go clubbing, and I need you with me."

I sighed and and rolled my eyes.

"Do I have to?"

"Yes actually you do. Please?"

"Fine."

"Yay! I love you! Be ready by 9."

And with that, she hung up.

It was about 8 o'clock and I was ready to go to bed but I promised Bria that I would go out tonight. To start getting ready, I looked through my closet to see what options I had and settled for a strapless baby pink dress with heels to match. I gently curled my hair and finished off with a light make up look.

When I was done getting myself ready, I packed Diamond's overnight bag because she was spending the night at my moms' house.

"Are you ready, D?" I asked Diamond.

"Ready! You look very pretty Brook!" She exclaimed.

"Well thank you very much. C'mon let's go, grandmas waiting."

I followed behind Bria into the club and through the large crowd. Music was playing, people were dancing, and the overall vibe was amazing.

Bria walked up to the entrance of the V.I.P. section and had a small talk with the security guard. The security guard left and Bria looked back to me and smiled.

"What's going on?" I yelled over the music.

"Just wait on it."

After about what seemed like 2 minutes, the security guard came back with a tall light skin guy with curly hair.  Bria pulled him into a hug and looked over to me.

"Brooklyn, this is Lucas. Lucas this is Brooklyn." She said.

"Nice to meet you." I smiled.

"Nice to meet you too. Well y'all are welcome to hang out in V.I.P. with me and my boys." Lucas said.

"Let's do it!" Bria exclaimed.

The security guard let us through the rope, and we followed Lucas up a small flight of stairs and up to the balcony where there was a private dance floor and bar. As we walked further deep into the section we were approaching Lucas' friends.

That's when I locked eyes with Diggy.
