Dark of the moon

Here I am sitting yet through another binge session on Netflix, with my popcorn in one hand and my cat Twinkie in the other. Most girls my age would be out partying and drinking but not me, nope, give me Sam and Dean fighting monsters and I'm set.

Once I get to the point where my eyes can no longer watch the tv I decide it is time for bed. I get up and put my bowl on the table when suddenly things go dark.

"Great,"I say to Twinkie. "Guess I'll go check the breaker." She meows in the dark in agreement while I stumble to find the door to go outside. Once I make it down the steps of the porch only with the help of the light on my phone, fumbling, and almost tripping over my feet a few times, I look up to see no moon in the sky only the twinkling of stars. I find the breaker on the pole outside and open it's cold metal case.
" Well it wasn't the breaker..." I say out loud to bring some sound to the otherwise mute night. I hear a twig crack next to me and try to point my light in the direction of the snapping.
Crack.
Crack.
I hear heavy breathing and decide I've had enough of being outside and jog, run to the door, I lock the door quickly after slamming it, looking out the window into the darkness. My heart racing in my ears, I see nothing.
" Maybe I've been watching to many monsters today." I say letting out the breathe I'm holding in. Something rubs up my leg and I scream. Suddenly the light comes back on and I see Twinkie purring happily.
" I believe it's time for bed fat cat." I pick her up and quickly make it to my room putting her on my bed where she escapes under the covers.

After a quick glimpse in the full mirror on my door I decide it's time for a shower. Then I think about what happened just a few minutes ago, and the idea of a replay of all the cliche horror movies come into my head of the damsel in distress getting killed, naked. I shake my head and decide maybe I should just go on to bed, I have classes tomorrow anyways.
I turn off the lights and take another quick peak outside my window just to be sure no monsters are waiting to drag me into the darkness. I don't see anything so I take a breathe and climb into bed with Twinkie, purring in her sleep.
