I smiled as I lied down on my bed, recalling what had happened today.

I was walking in the garden, trying to think of new dance steps for the dance team. I was feeling frustrated as I was unable to think of anything until I stumbled upon someone.

I saw a girl sprawled on the floor, her hair lying over her face. I panicked, "Hey! Are you alright?" and rushed to her, pushing her hair out of the way.

I gasped when I saw her face. She was so beautiful. She has shoulder length black hair, long lashes and the cutest pair of lips I had ever seen. I blushed when I realised what I was thinking. Stop it, Lee Chan! You should save her now, not admire her! I scolded myself mentally, and gently flipped her over to her back.

I was surprised to see that her cheeks was stained with tears. Was she crying? Why? I asked myself before picking her up, bridal style and carried her carefully to the sick bay. I placed her on the bed and looked around.

Seems like the nurse is out, I thought as I stared at the girl. Her brows are now furrowed and she mumbled, "No please..." while moving her head around. She is having a nightmare, I concluded and decided to get her some water.

Just was I was about to walk away, I felt her arms snaking on to my waist, holding me tightly. "Don't leave me alone" she whimpered. I turned back and looked at her in shock, blushing madly at how cute she sounded and her warm, small arms holding onto my waist securely. She opened her eyes just then and looked around, confused and oblivious of my presence. Her big eyes darted around the room and finally to me. She tilted her head slightly at me while I just stood there, frozen. Her eyes finally landed on her arms and she gasped, pulling her arms away. (And I swear I saw a tint of pink on her chubby cheeks).

She immediately apologised and looked down. But all I can think of is how beautiful her voice sounded. It's not high pitched nor is it too low. It's perfect. I realised I haven't replied her yet and gave her a smiled at her shyly, "it's okay." In my attempt to be friendly, I teased her, "It was an eye-opener to see someone acting out their dream." I saw her blushed and buried her face in her hands.

How cute, I thought and patted her head, smiling, "I was just joking. Don't take it to heart." I was surprised when she smiled back at me, a genuine smile although it was just a small one.

I quickly made an excuse and left the room, my hand clutching the blazer where my heart is. My heart feels like it will burst anytime from how fast it is beating. I had never felt this emotion before. Although it is strangely familiar to what I feel when I'm dancing. I mumbled to myself, "Just... what is this emotion that I am feeling?" and walked off to buy water for her.

I braced my heart before opening the door, acting goofily in case she is awkward with me. "I got it! See how fast I am..." I slowed to a stop when I saw her crying. I felt my heart squeeze when she looked at me with such heartbroken gaze.

I put the bottle away and walked toward her, carefully placing my hand on her shoulder. I asked carefully, "What's wrong? Why are you crying again?"

"Again?" She repeated weakly.

Uh oh, wrong word.

I looked around awkwardly and answered honestly, "I... erm...sort of found you on the floor in the school garden. Your face looked like you had been crying so I kinda guessed..."

I was surprised when she told me everything, that her boyfriend broke up with her coldly. I just did what my instinct told me to, holding her to my chest and stroked her soft hair.

"It's ok to cry it out." I whispered to her. "It's just you and me here. Nobody else will disturb us. So cry all you want."

She stiffened in my embrace but soon relaxed cried really hard, her sorrowful wails slicing my heart. I just held her close and continued to stroke her head, hoping that it would somehow comfort her.

Her cries reduced to sobs and I pulled away, "better?" she nodded her head cutely and smiled, using her hands to wipe her tears.

Just then, the bell rang. I got up reluctantly and walked towards the door, "rest well for today. I will let the teacher know that you are unwell and resting in the sick bay." I was ready to walk out when she stopped me, "Wait! What's your name?"

She didn't know who I am? She can't recognise me? , I thought as I turned around and gave her a smirk. "Lee Chan. Remember that." I answered and walked out, without knowing the beautiful and mysterious girl's name.

This is going to be interesting, I smiled to myself and headed to class, making a mental note to drop by after school to see her.
