This is Genesis" mom.
I'm running and from what, I don't know. Then when I see that familiar face, I'm falling into the darkness. Where I fear there is no escape.
..........
I later wake up to my mom shaking me and calling my name. At first I was confused then it all came rushing back. Me, the stairs, him, then my body meeting the hard wood floors.
Great. Now my body is going to look like a damn black and blue painting."Gen, can you hear me? Genesis!" Mom shouted, still shaking me.
I barely manage to spew out a measly "I'm okay" before opening my eyes."Thank God! You're okay." My mom screeched then sat on the floor beside me." What happened? Oh my gosh. I didn't know what to think when I saw you laying there. You don't think that heart attacks are real?!"
"Mom, calm down" I said as I sat up and she helped me to my feet."I thought I saw something upstairs and blacked out." I groaned as my knees almost gave out under me.
"Just be careful, okay honey? It's a little after 8, so you should probably go in early."
"It's after 8?" I look at the clock and it reads 8:23pm. I blacked out for more than 3 hours. Mom helped me upstairs and even tucked me in.
"Goodnight, honey. I love you."
"Love you too, mom. Night." No more than 3 minutes pass and I'm asleep knowing the nightmares will return.

He's chasing me. Every corner I turn through he's there. It's like he can read my mind.
Now he's behind me, gaining up on me.He's too fast and I'm too slow. He's caught me. I try to break free but he's too strong and I'm way too weak. I give up, the battle is over and he won.

When I wake up in the morning, I look up to find my mom in the doorway, which is odd because she's not an early bird.
I mean, one time when I tried to wake her up at 6am, she threw a book at me as I turned to leave. I still have the mark.
"Morning, sweetie. Do you feel better?" She stand there in her pajamas, her face full of concern."Morning, I suppose I feel better than yesterday." I sit up and yawn.
"Well just in case, I took the day off and called the school to tell them you're not coming in." She came over and kissed my forehead.
"Mom, I told you I'm fine."
"I know but I just to make sure. I mean, it's my job to look after you." She sits on the edge of my bed.
"And you're doing a very good job." I smile and she smiles back with just as much warmth.
