Chapter 3

Emma's POV

She knew Regina needed her now. As a friend. Just a friend. Emma hurried over to the car, driving to the big house as fast as she could. She surprised herself with this action. A year ago, the pair would have been at each other's throats. Emma chuckled at the memories.

Regina's POV

She saw the familiar yellow car pull up. Regina slyly watched her get out from the upstairs window. Her blonde hair swirled around everywhere, still flawless.
Emma's knuckled tapped on the door. Regina checked her hair and makeup before continuing downstairs. She opened the door and her brain went into overdrive at the sight of her in her dress. Wowww! Breathed Regina. She flushed at the thought of why she invited Emma over.
Regina led Emma over to the couch. She asked "Apple cider?" Emma nodded as Regina poured some into her wine glasses.

"What did you want to talk about?" Questioned Emma.

Regina took a deep breath and began. "Robin came over tonight." Regina watched Emma's eyes change at the mention of Robin. Regina dismissed this and kept going.

"He kissed me and I felt nothing."

"Well I knew he kissed you cus you'd missed a spot." Emma laughed pointing at her neck.

"Excuse me" asked the queen angrily. She got up to look in the mirror and same a hickey, size of a quarter on her neck. She rubbed it sheepishly and was surprised she could be more embarrassed after she looked that way at Emma tonight. No she wouldn't think about that.

"I felt nothing Emma. This is the man I love and the man I have to protect from Zelena, as well as the man who loves me. He gives me everything and I don't feel it. Ugh" Regina sighed and put her head in her lap. Emma walked over and rubbed her back. Regina flinched, surprised by her soft touch. It felt comfortable. Once Regina sat up Emma embraced her in a hug, which lingered a little more than a friendly one. They pulled apart awkwardly, both silent.

Emma spoke. "I know how it feels to want to feel something but you don't. I had a date with Hook-"

"Captain Guyliner" Regina smirked. "Really?"

Emma rolled her eyes at her response. She went on "He tried to kiss me but I went for a hug. It was so awkward. I could tell he was embarrassed because I didn't feel anything."

Later in the night, Regina noticed how much cider Mrs. Swan had drank, because she was getting a little loopy and laughed at everything.

"Its not safe for you to drive" said Regina failing to calm her down. She tried to get Emma to walk up the stairs but being drunk, she somehow ended up falling down them, smashing into the table with the glasses they were drinking from. They fell and cut her hands, and Emma was wincing at the pain. Finally after cleaning them and wrapping them, Regina scooped a passed out Emma up and carried her up the staircase. They passed Henry's room and heard soft breathing. This put a smile on Regina's face. She put Emma into the guest bedroom and changed her clothes into silk pajamas. She was relieved that Emma decided to wear a bra and underwear to her and Hook's date. Regina then tucked her in and closed the door.

Emma's POV

Emma woke up with a splitting headache. She lay in bed, trying to figure out last night's details. She remembered falling and looked at her bandaged wrists. She remembered being changed. She also thought she remembered a soft kiss on her forehead. She was positive she wasn't imagining it. Emma went downstairs to find Regina already eating with Henry. She sighed grudgingly and was greeted by the two of them and offered a seat at the table. She was jealous of how good Regina looked in her purple silk pajamas, next to herself with her bad case of bedhead. She grabbed some French toast and drained it in maple syrup. Out of the corner of her eye, Emma noticed Regina eyeing her and strangely enough she didn't seem to mind.
