The Truth

It's been almost a month since I moved into the Membrane household. I've enjoyed my stay, despite the whole Arrow fiasco. Yes, I feel as if Professor Membrane is my parent. He treats me the same as his own kids, living with Gaz is interesting, but it's fun playing video games with her, even if I do lose, but living with Dib is hard. Truth be told I have a huge crush on him. But he can't know. I'm not ready. Or am I? Arrow told me he liked me. Arrow is an angel. She probably told the truth about it. Maybe I am ready. I head for Dibs room where he is, when Professor Membrane calls for me. What could he want? I follow the sound of his voice down to his lab.
"Yes, Professor Membrane?" I ask
"Ah, Mercy, I would like to ask you something." He says gesturing for me to sit. I sit down in a metal fold-up chair.
"What is it, Professor?" I ask, I've taken to calling him just Professor on occasions, I'm not sure why.
"I was only wandering when your house would be ready. You've been living here for a month, and I haven't even heard from your parents. What's going on? The truth, please." He says
I look at the ground, "You want the truth? Okay, both my parents died when I was young. I raised myself, grew up on the streets. I lived in an alley. I'm always bullied at Skool. I didn't tell Dib anything until he found me in the alley. He brought me here, and wanted be to be able to live here. That's the truth, I'm sorry I lied, Professor. I just didn't want to be turned down." I admit, glancing at him, he looks surprised.
"Why would I turn you down? You have done nothing, but earn your stay. I just wish you would have told me the truth in the first place." He says
I stand up, "I know I should have. I've felt bad about it ever since I lied. Thank you for letting me stay." I say and hug him in thanks. It takes him a second, but he hugs me back.
I back away, and smile at him. He looks happy, now I need to go confess my feelings to Dib. At least I have good confidence.
I walk upstairs, and knock on Dib's door. He opens it, "Hey, you don't have to knock." He says
"Oh, okay." I say
"Come in," he moves aside, and I enter his room, watching him close the door behind him, "do you need something?"
"Yes," I say sitting on his bed, "I need to tell you something."
"What is it?" He asks sitting next to me
"Well, I... it... er... it's hard to say..."
He places his hand on mine, I blush, "Tell me." He says
I hug him, I don't know why, but I can help myself. I whisper in his ear, "I like you. Like, like you, like you." I pull away, his face is all red, "Me too, er, you." He's hardly mustering it out.
I giggle, and kiss him on the cheek. He looks surprised, but happy. He looks at me, and kisses me on the lips, I kiss him back. We both pull back at the same time for air, I smile at Dib and he smiles back. I push my pink bangs out of my face and stand up. I turn to Dib, "Thanks for listening." I say and leave his room, closing the door behind me. I walk into the living room, "Gaz I'm going on a walk." I say walking past her.
"Yeah, whatever." She says
I walk out the door and some ways before i run into Zim.
"Zim, are you going to kidnap me again?" I ask
"Zim did nothing of the sort human girl!" He yells
"Don't yell at me! What do you want?"
"To ask you a thing about Arrow. What is she? Where did she go? Why did you seem to have a connection with her?"
"Zim, Arrow was my guardian angel, she-" Zim interrupts me,
"Your... guardian? Guardian angel?" He seemed confused
"God, Zim, you really don't know anything do you?"
"Zim knows things, just maybe not things that humans know.."
"And your trying to be a human? Seriously?" I ask
"Yes, seriously. Do you not know anything?" Zim asks
"Listen, fucker, I'll make a deal. I teach you everything that a human should know, and you just have to promise me that you won't do anything bad to Dib!" I prepose
Zim agrees while scowling.
I look around, the sun has already set. I look at Zim whose eyes seem to be bright in the dark even if they're fake.
"Zim, I have to go." I say
"But, you just told Zim you would teach him things!" Zim says
"I know, but the sun has set, we'll start tomorrow, I promise. Goodnight, Zim." I say running towards the house.
