Dear Nobody,

It's my birthday today. I'm now eighteen. Not very exciting considering there's not much that I can legally do at eighteen that I haven't already been doing. I can vote now, I guess. Woopty doo. Luckily, my mom has arrived home again. She came in late last night and as far as I know, she didn't bring any guys home this time, which is good. It's good to know that she's home due to it bringing a stop to Nathan's insane parties but I'm not in the mood to actually have a conversation with my mom. I can hear her downstairs now but when she leaves, I'll be on my way to Danni's house to yell at her for trying to hook me up with her brother.

I haven't talked to her since the Near Year's party and I wanted to wait until her brother went back to school, which I assumed was today because it's a Sunday and my school starts back up tomorrow so I assume that his school starts tomorrow too. Danni knows that I didn't want her to hook me up with anybody, I told her that at the beginning of our friendship (or whatever it is, but I'm sure that we're actually friends now, no matter how much I hate to admit it).

So I'm going to go now because I have to go yell at this girl and then I have to come back home and prepare for the first day of classes tomorrow. I would say 'wish me luck' but I know that if I was ever a lucky person, I wouldn't be dealing with half of the problems that I'm dealing with right now.

It takes me a lot longer than I thought that it would to get to Danni's dorms by taking a long string of buses and then walking for a few blocks through the college campus. I finally reach Danni's dorm building with numb fingers and purple lips from the insane cold outside. My jacket is keeping me warm for the most part and I'm keeping my hands hidden in my pockets but the cold is still testing my survival skills.

Inside the halls, I find her dorm room and bang on the door a few times before it swings open and I can't say that I'm not surprised to see Danni's brother standing on the other side.

"What are you doing here?" I ask, not waiting for an invitation to come inside before I'm pushing past him to get into the warm room. Danni is sitting on the futon inside of the room watching TV. I know that it's rude and maybe I'll apologize for it later, but right now I'm both ready to yell at Danni and also very freezing so I don't care that I'm being rude right now.

"Just spending some time with my sister before I go back to school," He explains to me with a curious look on his face. His rather handsome face, I must say. It's kind of weird though, because he looks exactly like what Danni would look like if she was a guy, which makes sense with genetics and whatnot but it's still strange how similar they look.

"I thought that you'd be gone by now," I tell Quinn as I'm slipping my coat off and I hang it up on a coat rack thing by the front door because inside, the winter coat gets very hot very quickly. Underneath of the coat, I'm wearing a black and dark red striped long sleeved t-shirt but it's very worn and loose. After I put it on this morning, I realized that it's actually a crop top though, so there's a few inches of my stomach that shows under the material which isn't ideal for January but with the coat on, I couldn't even tell when I was outside. My black leggings and blue sneakers finish off my put-together-in-five-minutes ensemble. Topped off with my destroyed-by-winter-winds hair style and frost bitten pale skin tone.

"Nope, I'm going back to school tomorrow," He explains. That doesn't make any sense to me, but I don't want to have a conversation with this guy so I just leave it at that.

"Well, anyway, what's up? We didn't have plans, did we?" Danni interrupts as she pauses the TV and stands up from the futon to stand with me and Quinn by the door.
