Chapter 5: Suspended

"Shit," I say as I am racing across the cafeteria. I can see the rage building on Anjie's face. She swings back; I am pretty sure Kayla is going to have a black eye after that. Anjie grabs her by the hair and slams her face into the trash can and Kayla falls to the ground and screams a deafening scream. We finally reach them and Anjie is standing over Kayla yelling at her to get up. The teachers are making their way over to them now and I quickly run up and grab Anjie before anything else can happen and we dart down the hallway, out the car rider doors, and into the parking lot to find my car and drive away. I look back just to check if anyone else is coming as Katie, Bailey, and Mackenzie bust through the doors. I can see teachers coming down the hallway as the doors are closing. As Anjie and I get into my car, they are getting into Katie's car. Quickly we back up and drive away. I can't go home because my mom would go crazy.

"What was that about!!" I ask Anjie.

"She called me a whore not only to my face but she has been talking about me behind my back." she says clearly aggravated.

"Ugh, I hate her so much. She needs to mind her own business. We are both probably gonna get suspended along with everyone else behind us." I say.

"I know..." she sighs.

We go back to school the next day and what do ya know, first thing after the bell is, "Can I see Anjelina, Chloe, Katie, Mackenzie, and Bailey in the front office please for a moment?"

My teacher replies "Yes" and we all get up and leave.

When we got down there, the principle leads us to his office. We get into the office and he asked Katie, Mackenzie, and Bailey to step out for a moment. Anjie and I are still standing there as we watch our friends leave the room. Mr. Henry sits down in his chair and asks us to sit down in front of him. As we sit down he begins to ask us.

"So yesterday I heard that you, Anjelina, got in a fight?"

"Well I guess that is true." she answers.

"What made you, Chloe, think that it was a good idea to split them up and drive Anjelina from the school?"

"Well obviously Anjie would have beaten the shit out of Kayla if I hadn't dragged her away, and we ran out of school and left because if we had stayed this is all that would've happened yesterday after that except Anjie would still be mad....or mad-der."

"Well I'd say that is a good excuse," me and Anjie glance at each other, " but it's still no reason to leave school. Katie, Mackenzie, Bailey will you come in here now?"

They all walk through the door.

"Sit down, please. Now explain to me why did you all leave school?"

No one answers.

"I see. Nobody has an answer?"

They each look at one another and then finally, "Well Anjie is our friend and we had no idea what happened or why she was so mad and then Chloe left with her in the car so we followed." Bailey answers.

"Okay so I see. Once again I know you were worried about your friend but you should not leave school property until you are dismissed by anyone that is eligible to dismiss you." Mr. Henry says with a creased forehead and leaning forward onto his desk where the light reflects off of his bald head.

"And I don't understand why that is a rule." I stand up." Okay I know it is not right but so what like what if something bad was about to happen? You expect us just to sit and watch it happen? Imagine if one of the teachers got involved and got hurt, is that okay?"

Katie stands up and tries to calm me down. "Chloe, watch it."

"It's better for her to be with someone she trusts when she is mad, I'm sorry if you don't understand that, I really am but if something even worse was about to happen I wasn't just going to sit there and watch it happen." I leave the room and stand in the hallway leaning against the wall to his office.

"Chloe, get back in here." he says. He doesn't sound very concerned for a delinquent kid who just walked out of his room after pretty much yelling at him. I kind of have a history with anger issues when I get in trouble, especially if it is for doing something like this where I don't even understand why it is a rule.

About five minutes later Mackenzie walks out into the hallway. I'm guessing she was looking for me because as soon as she saw me her expression changed to relief.

"They thought you had taken off again but I mean obviously I knew better."

"How?"

"You seriously did not just ask that question. I have known you my whole life and I know that when you go off like that you cant think of anything else than why you are mad so you wouldn't drive away you wouldn't know where to go and I doubt you would even remember how to turn the key to start the car."

"I would remember how to start a car..." I chuckle.

"Alright, well, lets go back in there." She was right. I don't really think about anything else when I am mad other than the reason which is probably why I have anger issues because I just keep building up my feelings until they escape.

We walk back into the room and Mr. Henry looked surprised to see me.

" I'd thought you had ran off again."

"Well obviously they knew I didn't according to they looks on their faces."

"Yes they told me that you would not have ran off again."

"okay so lets get on with it what's our punishment?"

"Well I have decided to let you decide."

"On what."

"You can either take a week suspension or join the stop bullying club for a month, but that is only for you and Anjelina. The rest of you will have either a week of oss or a week of iss. Take your pick."

We all look at each other. Well this is an easy choice.

"I will take just a week of oss." I say.

"Alright, and the rest of you?"

"We are gonna do a week of oss, too." Mackenzie says speaking for herself, Bailey, and Katie.

"Anjelina?"

"I guess I'll do a week oss"

"Well, okay I guess we all have a week off next week." I say.

"Well I suppose you do but you have to finish this week first, and you will also have to get this paper signed by Friday." he hands us each a write up sheet.

"Great. Will do. Good thing it's only Wednesday. Can I get back to my learning now, you are taking me away from a very interesting math lesson."i say sarcastically.

"You are dismissed." he says as I am, already, walking out of the room.

As we start walking upstairs, Katie yanks me back.

"So how are you planning to do this, you know your mom will kill you if she finds out you did this."

"Well I'm obviously gonna get her to sign it." I say and continue walking.

"And how are you planning to do that?"

"I'll explain later. Now lets get back to a very interesting math lesson." I wink. She rolls her eyes.

"Okaayyyy." She mutters.
