"Merry Christmas Eve!" Maddie chirped as we all sit down on a bench near a park. Katie and Liz laugh while Dan sits beside me.
"I'm not gonna be able to go to sleep tonight!" I explain, rubbing my hands together to keep warmth, which I seem to be lacking.
"Girl, I'll be awake all night!" Katie giggles. "Is this how girls talk?" Dan buds in, nudging my shoulder.
"Hey, it was your choice to stick around with us!" I prove my point. "No," He refuses, grabbing my freezing hand. "I stuck around because of you."
Maddie, Katie, Liz pause their conversation and smirk. "We were just leaving anyway." They all remark as they quickly walk off.
"Dan-" "I like you, Sam." My cheeks blush and I smile. "Please, let me take you on a date after Christmas."
"Okay," I agree. "Now, how about I walk you home?"
"S-sure, of course." Dan wraps his hand around my waist and we walk home.
Immediately, I see Felix sitting on the porch. "Let go," I attempt to push Dan off, but he doesn't budge. "He'll find out someday."
Expecting him to flip out when he saw us, I squint my eyes as I walk up the stairs. I hear the two boys laugh.
"I'm not mad, Sam. He asked for permission." Felix explains, still chuckling. I glance questionably at Dan and he nods.
"So, it was nice walking you home." I'm pretty sure I saw a blush creep on Dan's face as he shoves his hands in his jacket pockets.
"Thanks," I hold his face in my hands as I give him a quick peck on the lips. "Merry early Christmas," I say over my shoulder as I walk inside, leave, both, Dan and Felix's jaw hanging.
"Hey, whatcha up to?-" I pause as I see Marzia standing motionlessly near the television. "What's-" A man with a gun aims it towards me.
Felix must've been outside a really long time to not see this stranger break in.
"You, beside your mom." The man orders calmly motioning his gun to where he wants me to stand.
As I walk, I notice his brown eyes. That's it! It's the guy who I filed a police report on! Now, what the heck am I gonna do?
I guess he could tell that I was planning an escape route. "No," He snarls harshly as he cocks his gun.
"No! No! No!" Marzia wraps her arms around me tightly and stands in front of me.
I hear Felix and Dan talking on the porch and debate if I should scream. Without another option, I tackle the dude to the ground, making his gun fly in the air.
I catch it and point it straightly at him as he lays on the floor defenselessly as I holler for the two boys.
Their jaws drop and Felix traps Marzia in a hug while Dan grabs ahold to my shaky hand and send a glare at the man.
Felix calls the police and, as I hear the sirens roar and blue and red lights shine through our window, I smirk at the unknown man.
"You'd be surprised at how much The Walking Dead has taught me." And with that, the cops flood inside and arrest him.
But, I do have to say, this is the best Christmas present ever. I don't have to worry about this stranger anymore.
"Ma'am, I need the gun." I held on to it just incase the idiot tried anything else. "Here,"
"Thank you, but, how did you manage to take him out?" The policeman asks curiously. "Well, it's a long story to tell..."
