"What's wrong with him?" I whispered to Naomi. "I don't want to get into some shit." "I don't know what's wrong with him." Naomi said. "Mama always said to NEVER shoot anybody." We were driving to somewhere. I don't know where but we were. I was looking out the window when I heard a phone ring. Terry exclaimed under his breath and picked it up. I could faintly hear my mom in the background, yelling about where I am. Naomi looked at the phone harder than usual. I patted her arm with the back of my hand and asked "What's wrong with you?" She leaned over and said in a voice that indicated that she sounded frightened "That's....that's the HOUSE phone. This fool took the house phone!" "She's just fine." Terry said.  He talked for a few more minutes then he hung up. I noticed that we were taking the way to go to the hospital that Jerry was in. "Are we going to the hospital,Terry?" Terry just ignored me and kept going. "TERRY!" Naomi shouted. "WHAT?!" Terry yelled back.

Naomi Jumped over to the passenger  side.

"Turn this damn car around!" She demanded him. "Get back in your seat!" Terry told her.  "NO!" She started fusing. "Naomi,i'm not turning this damn car around so get your ass back your damn seat!" Naomi sighed and got back into her seat. I turned to her and asked "Did you really think you would win?" She ignored me and looked out the window.

We finally arrived to the hospital and Terry ran in to the front desk. "I'm here to see Jeremiah Queens." He said. The woman was black and she was chewing her gum annoyingly loud. "Are you family?" She asked.  "Yes. I am. We all three are." The woman looked at him in suspicion but let him go anyway.  We walked to the room and then went in. Jerry was laying there. "Jerry." Terry softly called. Jerry opened his eyes and looked at us. "Oh. Hey." He said. "Are you okay?" Terry asked. "Yeah." Jerry said. "I know who shot you. Me and my boys bout to run up on him." Terry explained. Jerry grabbed Terry's wrist and looked deep into his eyes and whispered, "Please."

Terry nodded. We then left the hospital and we went to Naomi's place. I had to call my mom back to tell her that I was staying over at Naomi's house for one night and going home. My mom said that she was going to come by and give me my clothes. And that's what she did. As the day went on and on, I could hear Terry calling people and getting ready. We have shootouts when someone's buddy has been shot and/or in the hospital for it, or if they died from getting shot.  The day quickly turned into night. I kept getting worse and worse anxiety as time passed. Naomi and I were in the living room and it was beginning to be night.

Dark

Scary

Night.

Terry came downstairs and loaded a gun. This time a night is where all the hoodrats come out. The women when more baby daddies than you can count. Terry went to the door then opened it. He stopped in his place and turned around to look at Naomi and me on the floor just staring at him. "You coming?" He asked us. We both knew there was no choice so we got up and went with him. I got my backpack just in case. We headed out the door,to the car and got in. "Do you even know where Matthew is?" I asked. "Yeah. I know him. He has been trying to get me and my boys for years."  He explained. He all of a sudden took a right then left turn into an ally way. We saw a van in front of us. It was a black van and it looked pretty scary. "Get out." Terry demanded us both. We got out of the car and so did Terry. We followed him towards the van which I know is stupid.

He opened the van door and forced us to get in. "Sit down and shut up." He said. There were 4 men and Naomi and I were sitting in the back where no one else was sitting.  One of the men turned to us and said "You guys are pretty little thangs, aren't ya?" Naomi tugged me a bit closer to her. The man laughed. Terry got in the passenger side. "Who's those lil shawtys back there?" The man asked Terry. "My sister and her little friend." Terry answered. I have to say,I was a little offended. A few minutes later we started driving. I looked out the window and saw liquor stores, prostitutes and drug dealers. All of a sudden,we made a very sharp turn in front of a liquor store then all the men in the van started loading up huge guns and then opened all the windows.

All the guns started going off at different directions.

Me and Naomi huddled together and ducked down while screaming. I looked over and Matthew was down. We wasn't dead but instead suffering from a bullet. Terry got out of the car and walked over towards him. He stood over him and looked at him with a glance. I started to feel bad. Matthew is obviously in a hard place and all he wanted to do was help. Terry was about to shoot him but he heard the cops in the background and ran back to the van.
