First Step To Success

~Carmela's POV~

Tuesday morning:
Beep! Beep! Beep! Beep!
"Ughhh"
I struggle to find my alarm clock for a while. I use my fingertips to guide my hands on the dresser next to me to find it.Once I reach it, I smash it as hard as I can with my fist and it topples to the ground. I roll over in bed so I'm on my back.
Bzz! Bzz! Bzz!
I look at my phone to see who's texting me.

-Wake up! The first step to getting back on top for school and being responsible is being on time - Jaden

-you're crazy. It's 5:30!- Carm
I roll my eyes and close them to get about 5 more minutes of sleep. When I get another message from him.
-remember the deal! - Jaden

-I hate you- Carm

"Ughhh" I roll out of bed and drag myself  to the bathroom. I brush my teeth, wash my face, plaster on makeup, and attempt to do my hair. I put on a sweatshirt with skinny jeans and threw on converse. I walk downstairs to find that my dad was making me breakfast.
"Hey sweetie I didn't expect you to be up just yet... I-I um made you breakfast, you hungry?" He asked, putting out plates of food in front of me on the table.
"No Im just going to head to school, I'm really not that hungry, but um thanks" I was still kind of upset with him. But I was STARVING. I began to head out, when he stopped me.
"Wait.. Carm. I just wanted to tell you I'm sorry about going off on you. Your teacher emailed me about the study session. I shouldn't have yelled at you and... I'm sorry."
I stopped for a moment, surprised at his apology.
" it's okay.. I should've told you as soon as I knew about it I'm sorry too.. I guess"
He smiled
"Can you give your old pops a hug?" He said opening his arms, inviting me to hug him.
I smiled and embraced him in a hug.
After a couple of seconds, he finally broke the hug and said.
"now you better head off to school.. You sure you don't want any breakfast?"
"Yea I'm fine. Thanks though, I'll see you later" I said heading out the door.
"Okay have a good day!"
"No promises!"
I closed the door and headed to my car.

I arrived at school. It felt weird being there so early. I went to my locker and gathered my materials for first period.
"Carm!?"
I looked back to find Aubrey speed walking towards me.
"Hey Aub!"
"Hey bae! Why are you here so early?"
"Loongg story"
"Did your dad make you?"
"No"
"Your mom?"
"Noo"
"Hmm." She gasped dramatically "was it that Jaden guy!?"
"Maybee"
"Omg it is! What did he do to get you out of bed this early?" She gasped again "did you guys..."
"No!" I said smacking her arm"she smirked at me.
"Are you sure? Because you know you can tell me anything."
"I know! But we didn't have sex! He's not... my type."
"What's your type then?" She said crossing her arms and smirking.

"Well.. Not him"
"Well You never know, He is kind of cute if you think about it" she said nudging me.
"Well it's a good thing I'm not thinking about it" I said smiling
She laughed. We arrived at class and Mr. Blake greeted us on our way in.
"Good Morning Ms Sanders, And... Ms Sanchez! What a surprise!... I-I mean I just didn't expect you here this early"
"Yea. Yea. I know" I said rolling my eyes.
" Mr Smith is really making an impact, I'm already seeing an improvement" he smiled, satisfied with himself.

"Yea.. I guess you were.... Right"I said hesitating to admit that.
He smiled and nodded proudly.

I sat down in my seat and everyone started crowding into the room. Jaden sat in front as usual.
"Okay class today you're going to be paired up by me, to make a portrait that deals with polynomials."
The whole class groaned.
"Alright, Alright contain your excitement. It's time to assign partners"
"Miranda, you'll be with Ryan; Mikayla, you'll be with Michael.." He continued to assign partners. I really hope  I'm paired up with someone smart. This can't turn out like last time when I ended up doing all the work.
".. Carmela, you'll be paired with Aubrey; and Jaden you'll be paired with Sam. Alright. Now that you know your partners, all of you will be responsible for the completion of the project."
Aubrey looked back at me and smiled, showing how excited she was. I smiled back and shook my head at her excitement.

The bell rang, sending everyone rushing out of the classroom. I gathered my things and began to leave.
"Mr Smith and Ms Sanchez, may I speak with you for a second?"
We both walked to his desk.
"What did I do now?" I sighed.
"Nothing at all. I just wanted to confirm that study sessions between you two will continue, due to current success"
Me and Jaden looked at each other and nodded. "Yes" we said in unison.
Jaden was busy all this week, but was free next week so we would continue then.
We walked out of the class together and he pulled me aside.
"What are you doing?"
"I-i just wanted to say you're doing a good job so far and I-I'm glad we made that deal" he looked at the ground with a smile, running his fingers through his hair.
I smiled and looked at him while he wasn't looking.
"Yea, Me too" I said in a soft voice.
He looked back up at me and smiled.
"well I have to get to my next class. so I'll see you later" I said breaking the stare
"O-okay I'll catch you later" we walked off in separate directions.

<Lunch Room>
"I'll trade you my apple juice for your fries"
Mariana was trying to convince Cecy to trade.
"Back off my fries Mari!" Mariana tries to trade with all of us for our food
"Fine but you're missing out!" She said sipping her juice trying to rub it in her face.
Cecy rolled her eyes.
Mariana got a text.
We all eyed each other.
"Who's that?" Cecy asked, peeking at her phone.
"Just... A guy"
" A guy!?" We all gasped.
Mariana rolled her eyes
"Um.. Yes, you know, A GUY, kind of like a girl, but has a penis"
We all burst out laughing.
"Would it happen to be that guy from Starbucks yesterday? Hmmm what was his name?? Trevor?"
They all giggled.
"Okay okay, let's not talk about him. Let's talk about Carmela and her 'study session" she said in a flirtatious voice with a smirk.
"I like the Trevor talk better" I said
"Oh come on,how was it? It couldn't have been that bad" Cecy said.
"It wasn't ... bad. But we didn't do much studying"
They all gasped.
"I know that's what i said!" Aubrey exclaimed.
"No not like that ya  nasty's. I just had to rush home because of my mom and dad and I just took him home after"

"Ohh" they all said. I giggled.
"Well where should we go today?" Aubrey asked.
"H-how about Starbucks again? Since Carm didn't really get to go yesterday?" Mariana asked almost instantly.
We all looked at her and she looked down and stuffed her face with pizza.
"It was just a suggestion" she said, under her breath while chewing.
We all laughed.
