The thick sealing of the envelope was gnarled open. "Yes! Yes It's finally here!" I violently thought. This is it, the official letter . A paper that could change my whole senior year experience! I swiftly glanced through the paper to look for any major keywords, like "accepted" or "get your butt on the plane! You're coming to South Korea!"
Then a huge grin came over my face. I found what I was looking for! "The Rotary Club has accepted your application to study one year abroad in South Korea. Your departure date is March 17th." Holy cow! That's only a few weeks away!

"WHAT!"
"No way!"
My closest friends started getting fired up from the big news.
"But it's not the same without you here!" My friend Candice barely choked out. I knew out of everybody she would have the hardest time. "March? Why are you leaving in March?" Lindsay questioned as she gnaws on one of her carrots. "School doesn't start until April there." I answered. The atmosphere around our lunch table grew gloomy.
"Well, bring me back some hot Asians!" Everyone started bursting out laughing. You could always count on Sydney to lighten up the mood!
Alyssa stepped into the conversation, "Even though it sucks that you're leaving, it will be a great adventure for you! Skype and keep in touch!" The group nodded in agreement.
Whitney then held out her fist as if she was holding a microphone and pretended to be a reporter. "Tell us more of the deets!"
"Hmm... Well I'm going to a city called Naju. And I'm staying at the Lee's house. I hope they're nice...It would suck to be stuck with a bunch of creeps for a whole year!" The group got fired up again. They started blabbering about different scenarios that could possibly happen to me with the Lee family.
"What if they're serial killers and you just end up getting hung by your toes in their basement?!"
"Dude I would laugh so hard!"
" I don't think Sabrina will!"
"She'll be too busy drowning her own blood!"
"You guys are going to make me choke on my sandwich!"
Everyone was on the floor hysterically laughing from their own jokes. "Oh my gosh!" I reacted. But I couldn't help but join in with them! Golly they're violent. They are starting to scare me a little bit. What if the Lee's are psychos and they just wanted me to live in their house so I can be their next victim? Wow Sabrina, let's not stress yourself out here!
The bell rang to excuse everyone out of lunch. As I got up to throw my tray of food away there was a tug on my sleeve that kept me down. I turned to see it was Candice. There was a very concerned look seeping in her eyes. "Did you tell him yet?" she started.
"Who?"
"Davis."
Crap.
