6) Yoohoo!

" And we are so very happy to have Sabrina spend her time in Korea with us! Geonbae!"

"Geonbae!"

Everyone clanked their raised glasses of Soju together after making a toast. For Haekyung, Kikwang and I on the other hand, had our glasses filled with peach soda since we aren't at the legal age to drink.

I've been staying with the Lee family for a week now. Eomma and Appa thought it would be a spectacular idea for us to go out for dinner to celebrate us starting school tomorrow. Kikwang suggested that we go eat at a barbecue restaurant called Yetnalnongjang.

This place is very different from the Texas Roadhouse kind of restaurants you find back at home. They have a mini rectangular grill in the middle of your table with a heat lamp above it. Instead of telling the waiters how you wanted your meat cooked, you just grill your own animal flesh the way you want it. And what's cool is that when you need a waiter, you can press the buzzer on your table and it will send a message to the front desk and a waiter will come to your assistance. It's a lot more convenient then having them looking over your shoulder every five seconds asking if you need a refill or if your food is okay.

Speaking of waiters a waiter came by and walked around the table to take everyone's order. I glanced through my menu looking at what they have to offer. Unfortunately everything was written in Hangul, so when the waiter came to me I pointed to a picture on the menu of a dish that I wanted. It looked like chicken so I thought I might as well get that. I was going to try to explain to the waiter that I needed a refill of my peachy delight until I was interrupted by a squeaky high-pitched voice.

"Kiki! Yoohoo!" A girl shuffled in her pink sparkley stiletto heels toward Kikwang. Her black leather skirt is so short that it appears negative in length. I swear one sudden movement and she'll be flashing our whole table... and the table behind us. Sorry to disappoint you miss but the slut club is next door.

She stood behind Kikwang's chair and placed her polished hands on his shoulders. With one hand she grabbed a hold of Kikwang's hair and jolted his head back. Woah, a little fiesty there.

She leaned in and him a quick smooch on the lips. My hands instantly clutched on to the napkin on my lap. A spark of jealousy flickered in me. Ergh...Who is the girl? Why is she here?!

She turned on her puppy dog face and began circling the floor with her foot. "Wang-obba, I haven't seen you this whole school break.I really missed you!"

Kikwang appeared to be disappointed in himself, "I'm so sorry, there's an exchange student that's staying at my house and I needed to help her get settled and comfortable here. Is there anyway I can make it up to you?"

"Yeah there is! Shoo this lard out of here!" I thought to myself as I overheard their conversation.

The girl glared over at me. Yes I'm the exchange student taking away your precious time with Kikwang. She then turned her attention back to Kikwang and said a phrase I wished would wring her in the neck...

"You can make it up to me by letting me join you for dinner." She cooed in his ear while hugging Kikwang's neck from behind.

"Of course! Here let me get you a chair." Kikwang got up and grabbed an extra chair from an empty table near by. He scooted it between his chair and where I was sitting. "Hey Sabrina do you mind sitting closer to Haekyung?"

Yes. "No I don't mind." I scooched my chair closer to Haekyung who was sitting on my right. To make matters worst she's going to be eating next to me for the rest of the night. I don't understand why I envy her so much. It's not like I have feelings for Kikwang or anything. I'm in Korea to study, not hook up with the hot boy I'm staying with... Did I just call him hot? Dang flabbit I swear I don't think of him that way!

The lard buzzed the buzzer and our waiter arrived in a split second.

"당신은 무엇을 오늘 밤 미스 주문 하시겠습니까? (What would you like to order tonight miss?)"

"나는 녹차와 참깨 스프해야합니다. 만 국물 참깨, 녹색이 양파를 원하는 국물 저지방합니다. 이 시간을 망치지 마세요! 또한 저 좀 떡으로 취급합니다. (I'll have green tea and sesame soup. I only want sesame in the soup, no green onions and make the broth low fat. Don't mess it up this time! Also treat me to some rice cakes .)"

She closed the menu with one hand and slammed it into the waiter's chest. That was seriously the longest order I've ever heard. The waiter was frantically writing down every single request she made. I rose an eyebrow and continued looking down on the floor with my hands gripping on to the sides of my chair. What in the world did she order? My fingers began drumming on the wood.

"Are you okay Sabrina?" Haekyung noticed the distraught vibe I was giving off. I leaned in closer to talk to him so the lard wouldn't eavesdrop our conversation. "Who is she?" I muttered.

"The girl all over Kikwang?" He paused to let out a silent airy snicker. "Her name is Tiffany. Her father owns this restaurant." So that's why Kikwang wanted to eat here. I peered over at Tiffany. Kikwang and her were laughing away and being aeygo with one each other. You can tell they are deep in their own little world. It was only Kikwang and Tiffany and no one else. If this building caught on fire they would burn and continue being lost in each other's company.

"...Sabrina," There was a tap of my shoulder. "You're red. Are you sure you're okay? Do you need some water?" Woops, I totally forgot I was talking to Haekyung. "Oh sorry I'm... Is Tiffany someone special to Kikwang?" Haekyung turned on his mischievous smile and leaned back on his chair. "Why does it matter?" He asked as he took a sip of his drink through his straw. Haekyung continued "She's Kikwang's girlfriend. They've been dating for two years." Girlfriend. Two years. Girlfriend. Two years. Those words were echoing through my mind repeatedly.

Eomma generated joy and maintained her excitement in her seat. "음식은 여기있다! (The food is here!)"

The waiter came with a tray of many side dishes, bowls of rice and the meat everyone ordered. Except for Tiffany's. A bowl of plain black soup, a cup of green tea, and a mini tray of 3 nicely arranged rice balls were placed in front of her. Haekyung slapped everyone's meat on the grill and was flipping and turning them with chopsticks.

Appa shared with me some knowledge of Korean culture from across the table. " In Korea you must look up to your elders and serve them. Since Haekyung is the youngest one in the family he is the one who serves everyone else before serving himself."

After a few minutes of Haekyung flipping and sizzling meat he placed the chunks of chicken I ordered on to my plate. My chicken was the first one to be fully cooked. To be honest it still looked really raw. "Uh Haekyung are you sure mine is done cooking?" He was still focused on the grill, making sure everyone's food was perfect. "Yeah I'm sure, it's actually a little over cooked. Sorry about that."

I picked up my chopsticks and grabbed a piece of the chicken. It was dripping juice as I held it up in the air. I put it in my mouth and instantly gagged. This is definitely not chicken. The texture was excessively chewy. It took more chews then necessary to break it down. It squirted thick grease that tasted like nothing but fat. The meat had no flavor, it was like eating a glob of elmer's glue. I tried swallowing it down but it kept coming back up. After a few tries I finally got that thing down. I tried to hide the mortified expression on my face.

"Umm Eomma, what is this stuff?" I asked. She smiled my way and answered, " That's pig fat my dear."

Pig fat?! It made my stomach even more uneasy and queasy. I could feel all the rice and soda churn inside me. It was slowly pumping it's way up through my digestive system. The burn of stomach acid was stinging my throat. I squinted my eyes shut and covered my mouth trying to keep everything down.

I can't! I can't hold it down anymore!
