34. Best Friend

Brodie's POV

Rain was sleeping in my room. She was released from hospital and her wounds were almost completely healed. Her powers should be coming back now. I was currently sitting in Tinsley's hospital room with the rest of the family and her mate.

She still hasn't woken up and it was worrying all of us. She should be awake by now. Phoenix's wolf hasn't even been able to contact her wolf. It's like she's not even here. It's like she's already gone.

I looked at Candy and she made eye contact with me but then quickly looked away. She has kept clear of everyone since the accident. It was her mates fault that she was hurt.

I heard River, Rain's older sister, scream and we all stared at the door but the sound had come from the other side of the house. She had screamed that loud that we heard her.

She screamed again and Brodie and I as alphas ran to check it out. We reached the lounge room and River was trapped in the corner by flames. Rain was standing there with a wicked smile on her face.

"I want to thank you boys for bringing my powers back. Everything is clear to me now. It all came back to me in a dream. My mother was there, my brother was there. We are all a happy family now. Now that I know she isn't my sister, I can hurt her in return for all the years that she has hurt me" Rain spoke clearly.

This isn't like her. To use her powers for the bad.

"Rain baby stop" Jace said taking a step towards her.

"I may be your mate but I'm not listening to you. Don't take anymore steps towards me" she said looking at Jace.

He put his hands up showing he means no harm and River screamed as the fire got closer to her.

"Rain stop! You don't want to hurt her" I said.

"Yes I do!" She yelled. "I want to make her suffer for everything she did to me"

"Rain I'm sorry. Please just stop this please" River cried out to her sister.

"Why should I do that?" She asked glaring at her.

"Im sorry for everything Rain. I only did those things cause I was jealous of you. I was jealous of everything you had. You were going to be Luna. Everyone always paid attention to you. Mum and dad always cared about you more than they did for me. You're prettier than me and have a better body than me. Every single girl is jealous of you, especially me. I wanted your life! That's why I did it"

Hearing the things that River said to her sister honestly made so much sense. It was like a light switch went off inside Rain's head and she fell to the ground and the fire disappeared. River cried and ran over to Rain and embraced her in a hug.

"I'm so sorry"

Rain and River both cried in each other's arms. I guess that family feud is dealt with now. And Rain's powers are back.

Jace and I headed up to his room where Rain was sleeping at the moment after her little meltdown with River.

"I'm sorry" River said as we walked through the doors.

"What for princess?" Jace asked.
