25. Rejection

Rain's POV

I dropped to the ground once Brodie told me what had happened. The reason I was in pain was because Jace was with another she wolf. He had cheated.

Brodie had quickly left and I think I know what was going to happen. He was going to hurt Jace. I tried to stop him but he was just to fast and strong.

I buried myself in my blankets and cried. I couldn't take this anymore. Everything that is going on right now is too much for me. I should just be dead. I thought Jace loved me.. Why would he do this? I'm his mate...

A knock on my door interrupted me from my thoughts and I groaned.

"Rain it's me. Dinner is ready"

"I'm not hungry" I cried out.

"Please darling. You need to eat something"

"I said I'm not hungry" I yelled.

"Sorry Rain"

I heard her footsteps retreat from my room and I cried heavily.

There was a knock at the front door and I heard Bettie open it.

"What are you doing here?"

"I need to see her. I need to explain"

"You're not wanted here anymore"

"Please Bettie"

"No" and then the door slammed shut.

Jace... I hopped up from the bed and ran through the house to the front door. I opened the door and stared at Jace who was slowly walking towards the woods.

He looked back and we stared at each other for a few seconds before he ran towards me. When he was around 3 metres away from me I put my hands up.

"Stay away from me Jace"

"Rain-"

"Save it. I don't want to hear your excuses. I could have given you everything you wanted Jace. I could have given you pups-"

"You still can Rain. Please just let me explain"

"I Rain Cortez, reject you, Jace Winters as my mate"

He growled and tried to walk towards me but tears escaped my eyes and it looked like his heart had broken in that instant.

"Rain please-"

"Goodbye Jace" and I shut the door in his face.

"You did the right thing Rain" I heard Bettie say from the lounge room. I collapsed and everything went black. 

Jace's POV

It's been 2 weeks since I've seen my beautiful mate. Rain. Oh I love her so much. I've been so so so busy with pack stuff that I haven't been able to visit her. Brodie has been visiting her for me and telling me how she is. I'm jealous of him but I know that once all this pack stuff is over I'll be with her all the time.

'Knock, Knock'

"Come in" I said to the person knocking at my office door. In came Ariana, a she wolf in our pack. She was a major slut and has wanted to get with Brodie and I for years but I will always be faithful to Rain.
