Looking in
Peering, gazing
Dreaming about the water
Crystal clear, the water is
Truly pure, the pool is
Azure blue, the sky is
And the rainbow? It's gone.
Lying on the grass
Looking up
Peering, gazing
Dreaming about the sky
Midnight scatters, moon rising
Barely peeking, softly glowing
Wind rustles, trees sway
Humming lightly, whispering -
The stars, the stars
They hang in the sky, feeble and frail
Dropping one by one
Lights winking out hundreds by hundreds
The world dims, beyond midnight
Shrouded in black, cloaked in mystery
No light, no sounds
All alone
Dawn battles, fierce and brutal
Sending streams of sunlight chasing down paths of black
Bringing a thousand tastes back to Earth
Sauntering across the orange sky
And the darkness is gone.
