"come on em, we're not even that far away," i shout while looking over my shoulder letting my gaze wander to the girl who was struggling to walk up the hill.
"yeah okay, smart one. it feels like my legs are going to fall off," she stated with her shoulders hunched and legs slightly bent.
"you've never complained about the walks before," i playfully groaned.
she scoffed before speaking, "yeah, but that was before you decided that it would be fun if we take the long way home."
"okay that's enough," i spoke approaching her slouched body before bending down and lifting her up into my arms.
"what are you doing," she asked squirming in my arms shocked by my sudden actions.
"i don't want to hear you complain anymore, trust me it's better this way," i say smirking down at her before continuing to walk up the hill.
she soon relaxed in my arms before nuzzling her head into my neck and letting her eyelids droop close. looking down at her petite figure, butterflies erupted in my stomach and a small smile crept upon my face.
what was this girl doing to me.

we soon reached home. i opened my front door and trailed up the stairs with my sleeping bestfriend in my arms.
i kicked my bedroom door open with my foot and placed her on my freshly made bed. taking off her shoes and school bag, i placed them at the bottom of my bed before sitting down beside her and letting my attention revert to her fully.
at this moment she looked so beautiful and vulnerable.
her lips slightly parted, her eyelashes were brushing the top of her cheeks, she would stir in her sleep every so often making her hair fall down in front of her closed eyes making my fingers itch to tuck the strands behind her ear.
reaching my hand out to touch her rosy cheeks, i was interrupted by the sound of the door-bell ringing through the house. then i remembered that charlie and mia were coming over tonight.
i rushed down the stairs and reached for the door-knob before twisting it open. i was no doubt met with charlie and an unfamiliar girl whose hand was intertwined with his.
it made me think of when emily and i would hold hands and how it made my stomach crawl. i let them both in before flashing the girl a friendly smile.
"i'm leondre," i said extending my hand in front of her to shake.
"mia," she stated taking my hand to shake it.
"so, where's emily," charlie asked not daring to let go of his new girlfriend's hand.
"uh, she's upstairs asleep," i mumbled while leading them into the lounge room.
charlie starts to laugh with makes me curious and confused, "what's so funny."
"you were totally checking her out before while she was sleeping," charlie chuckles taking a seat on the couch with mia.
i akwardly coughed, "was not."
"you so were, look your blushing," charlie stated pointing towards me where i was leaning against the door frame.
"oh, shut up charlie," i playfully scolded and grabbed my phone before chucking it towards him before it hit him fair in the chest making him groan slightly.
"i'm going go wake emily up so can you please order some pizzas and choose a movie," i ask already making my way up the stairs not even giving charlie time to answer back.
after tripping up the stairs and mumbling a few curse words to myself, i slowly open my bedroom door and close it behind me as i walk in. leaning against the door, i watch emily intently with a smile.
before i knew it, her eyes start to open. they trailed around the room and landed on me. she started giggling and for a short moment i was confused as to why but then i quickly realised that i am standing here, smiling like a idiot.
"stop staring devries and come cuddle," she spoke with her voice laced with sleep and started making grabby hands.
i laughed to myself before walking around to the other side of the bed and slipping in next to her. she reached behind her, grabbed my arms and wrapped them around her small body.
i tightened my grib around her and nuzzle my head into her neck, "i would do anything for you em, you know that don't you."
she turned her head slightly and kissed my cheek which made my stomach flip for another time today and i hear her quietly whisper, "i would do anything for you too, leo."
