soon, the weekend was over and it was the start of a new school week. i am currently standing outside leondre's house, waiting for him so that we could walk to school together like we usually do.

i decide to just ring him instead to see if everything is okay. he's most likely just running late. i quickly dial his number and press the phone to my ear. he picked up after three rings.

"hey princess," leondre greeted with his voice sounding croaky.

"hey you is everything okay," i asked a little worried.

i could hear him giggling on the line but he soon sneezed afterwards now causing me to giggle. "i'm just a bit sick," he mumbled groggily.

"you sound horrible," i replied.

"i feel it too," he mumbled sadly and you could almost hear the pout that was bound to be on his lips.

"poor baby, i will make sure to see you after school then." i smiled even though i knew he couldn't see.

"make sure you do, i could really do with your cuddles." he spoke and tried to hold back a cough.

"guess you will just have to wait until this afternoon." i replied grinning from ear to ear.

i could hear a shuffling sound on the other end of the line which meant he was probably getting up or moving around.

my eyebrows furrowed in confusion, making me wonder what he was doing. out of the corner of my eye, i could see a figure in leondre's bedroom window.

i looked up and laughed at the sight. i see leondre pushed up against his window with the curtains draped over his shoudlers. he wore grey sweatpants with a black oversized hoodie. his hair was a mess, but that didn't make him any less attractive.

he started to wave frantically and i hear his voice through the phone. "have a nice day, beautiful."

i was now smiling uncontrollably, "i will, see you later devries."

"later smith," he replied before hanging up the phone.

i glance at leondre's bedroom window one last time. he blew a kiss in my direction which i pretened to catch. i blew one back before i started to walk down the side-walk, starting my journey to school. once i got there, i walked to my locker and got my books out for my classes like any other day.

"hey em," i hear someone shout from the end of the school corridor.

turning my head in the direction from where i heard the voice, i saw charlie and mia walking towards me hand in hand. i stare down at their hands for a quick moment, secretly wishing that could be leondre and i some day, "hey guys."

"have you seen leondre around at all," charlie asked running his free hand through his sandy blonde hair.

"yeah, i called him this morning and he's sick today," i replied while closing my locker.

"oh okay," charlie shrugged.

the three of us stood there talking for a while until the school bell started to ring, signalling that our first class for the day was about to begin. we all parted ways and i walked down the crowded hallways to my first lesson. i couldn't help but feel lonley without leondre or the others by my side.

i arrived to my first class of the day which happened to be history, my least favourite subject. taking my usual seat at the back of the classroom, i take out my books and wait for the teacher to start the lesson.
