FOURTEEN

leondre

"leondre, for the last time will you please tell me where we are going." emily begs as she tightens her grip on my arm slightly.

i chuckle at her impatience, "nope."

she groans stubbornly and playfully rolls her crystal blue eyes. we continue to walk through the chilly winter air for another ten minutes until we come across a beach. it was basically stranded, probably due to the extreme cold.

i hear emily gasp beside me, "leondre i can't believe you brought me to a beach when it's absolutely freezing."

"relax babe, we're not staying here. well, not on this part of the beach at least."

she knitted her eyebrows together in confusion, "what do you mean."

"follow me," i whisper before leading her to another part of the deserted beach.

we walked down some concrete stairs that lead to a private part of the beach that my parents had bought before i was born. i open the metal gate before stepping aside, letting emily past.

"leondre, are you sure we should be here," she asked worried.

"it's okay," i reassured her before taking her hand and leading her down the rocky path.

after walking down one more set of stairs, we were met with a small ocean bath that was definetly secluded from the other part of the beach. i turn my head and look over at emily who was staring at the sight in awe, kind of like the way i always look at her.

"l-leondre, this is beautiful."

i smirked, "not as beautiful as you."

we sat down on a ledge that gave us a clear view of the water. i wrapped my arm around her shoulder, bringing her into my chest. she also wrapped her arms around my torso, snuggling into my side.

we watched the water in silence and the only noise heard was the faint sound of the waves crashing together. the sky was many shades of pink, orange and blue. the atmosphere was perfect.

emily looked so breathtaking. the way the her electric blue eyes would light up every time i say a lame and dumb joke, or even the way her hair would fall perfectly down her back. i could literally go on all day and list every amazing feature that she had. there were no flaws, she was truly the definition of perfection and i will never let her forget it.

"can you promise me something leondre," she asked while running her hand over my chest.

i hummed in response, closing my eyes and taking her hand before placing a quick kiss to her knuckles.

"promise me that we will always stay bestfriends, no matter what."

"we will always be bestfriends em," i rest my head on top of hers in reassurance, "you will always be my bestfriend and you will always be my babygirl."

______________

we decided to leave when it started to get dark. once we got home, we stood silently together at the end of emily's driveway.

"thank you for today," emily spoke softly.

"it's no problem," i responded before tucking a strand of hair behind her ear.

i gently grabbed her by the hips, pulling her closer. she shyly giggled and wrapped her arms around my neck. i followed her actions and placed both of my hands on her waist, interlocking my fingers together.

we were so close together that i could feel the warmth radiating off her perfectly tan skin.

we held each other in our arms for what seemed like forever, just swaying our bodies slowly from side to side. she soon pulled away from our embrace, leaving me wanting to wrap her in my arms again.

"goodnight leondre," she whispered.

"goodnight emily," i whispered back, pressing a light kiss to the corner of her lips.

she flashed me one more smile before walking up her driveway and making her way to her front door. once she was inside, i walked up to my own house, grinning like an idiot and eager to get some sleep.
