A/N: I'm so excited for this chapter because I'm bringing back one of my favorite OTPs, one that was created by me and a friend :)) #KILL!!! Okay enjoy!...
Today
I woke up to the annoying sound of the old alarm Vero made me keep in my room. If I was allowed a phone, I would've set it to play some songs instead. But I can't. It's one of the rules she's set for me before I even entered her house for the first time.
"No phone until I know that I can trust you. I don't want you to be talking to any of your friends. At least, not now," she said.
Vero came in a few moments after. "Katherine are you ready? You have to be at school early, someone is supposed to show you around before class starts." I pulled the cover over my head and groaned, which was pointless. She walked over to my bed and carefully peeled the blanket off of me. "Kat, please get up. You need to go to school." I shook my head and buried my face in the pillow next to me. She sighed and shouted, "KAT!" before yanking me off the bed. I landed on the carpet with a 'thump'.
"OW! What the hell is your problem?" I stood up and rubbed my arm. "What's my problem?! I didn't do anything!" She placed a hand over her chest and looked offended, but I ignored her and rolled my eyes. I walked around the bed and opened the drawer that was next to it, pulling a band shirt, jeans, and some socks. "I'll let you change. Come down as soon as you're done. I made you breakfast," she winked and skipped out the door and down the hall.
I rushed into the bathroom and did the routine I usually did at home. I didn't feel like putting any make up on. It was all burned in the fire. Vero offered me some but I saw no point in wearing any. I slipped into my clothes and put on my black high cut converse and ran down the stairs.
"Good morning," Vero said with a bright smile. Of course she was going to act like nothing happened. "God, Kat, you're not gonna do your hair?" I shook my head and my curls bounced. "I didn't know which you liked better so I made pancakes and waffles," I gave her a quick thumbs up before opening the refrigerator and pulling out a yogurt. She shook her head and went back to making more neon pink pancakes.
"Kat," she put the spatula down and turned towards me. "Talk to me," she looked at me with wide eyes, as if hoping I'd answer. "Hi," I knew it was a bitchy move but there was nothing to talk about with her. She frowned and said, "That's not what I meant." "I know it's not." "Then why don't you talk to me?" "Because I don't want to." She sighed and said softly, "Just get in the car."
...
On the way to school, Vero didn't say a word to me. She walked me to the office, talked to the principal about my schedule, and left. "Hello Katherine," the principal, Mrs. Kendricks, was a tall, thin lady with tan hair and a pointy nose. "I have a student who volunteered to show you around. He was supposed to be here before you came, that troublemaker is always wondering around," the door was pushed open harder than it should've, and I winced at the sound it made. "There you are," Mrs. Kendricks walked around her desk and went over to the boy who was standing in the doorway. She pulled something out of his mouth, it was a cigarette?
He was tall, and looked like he's never gotten enough sleep, and was wearing all black. His hair was wavy and it was sticking out in all directions, it looked cute. In fact, he wasn't cute, he was hot. He stared at me with his grayish-blue eyes and I felt myself blush. He laughed softly and shook his head.
"Katherine, this is William-"
"Will," he corrected, but she simply frowned. "He's the one who volunteered to show you around."
