The next day's episode of student news started off on a shaky start. Carl had trouble keeping his composure, and his tone was much more serious and darker than before.
"T-Time for today's roll-call *cough-cough* ehrm- uh, excuse me..."
The producers gestured at Carl to be more enthusiastic, but he ignored them. This episode was a train wreck so far. But nothing could compare to what was about to happen.
"So, er, instead of, of, of what I normally do here, at this, uh, time, I have an, ehrm, important a-announcement to-to make..." Carl stared at his notes in front of him of an awkward amount of time. It was obvious that he was breathing very heavily, and was under a lot of stress. But what could possibly be stressing him out? It was just another ordinary shooting of Student News? Right?
He collected his composure, and put on the straightest, most serious face of his career.
"In other news, an alien spacecraft armed with superior weapons and armor has been spotted in orbit around Saturn. At its current speed, it is set to arrive at Earth on Thursday. Scientists estimate that it will bring about an extinction level event of astronomical proportions. All of our attempts at peace have failed. The aliens are persistent in their claim that humanity will fall."
Several awkward seconds followed.
