Like spots of color
In a monochrome world
You brought light to the dark
And color to the world
Your iridescent wings shone
In the light of the moon
As you gave the world perspective,
Vibrancy and hues.
You took a tarnished past
And varnished the future
Created a color palette ready to shine
Brought back the light
Through the dark of the night
Returning the shades
Back to their place
Turning what was
Into what could be
Colors returning
After long last
Until the monochrome world
Wasn't basic anymore.
