A/N:  I'm so sorry about abandoning this book for a while!  I just couldn't really find the motivation to write it anymore, but I'm trying really hard.  Like I said, I kind of have it all planned out, but I need to write everything.  Please don't be mad!  If you're still sticking with me even though it's been a while, thank you so much for not giving up on me. I can't guarantee you the next time I have the next part published, but I'll try to get it out soon. Love you guys!

Recap:

Dean got out of bed and shuffled out of the room. You knew that he was going to the kitchen since there were no plastic cups up here in the bathroom, so you got comfortable. Maybe a bit too comfortable.

You had shifted so that you were lying on a pillow. You couldn't help it as your eyes began to fall shut. With the comforting smell of your father surrounding you, of the safety of it all, you fell asleep before Dean even returned, knowing that he would protect you.

Present:

The next morning you woke up, you were tired and hungry. You were planning on staying in bed a bit longer, but your hunger eventually won out.

You sat up in bed and stretched, making your back pop loudly. You let your arms fall to your side as you let out a yawn. You looked around the room with bleary eyes and realized that this wasn't even your room. Then you remembered. You had come into Dean's room last night to talk to him, but then you fell asleep on his bed as he went downstairs to get you a cup of water.

Your eyes traveled to his nightstand beside his bed, and you saw the glass of water that was probably meant for you last night. You threw your legs over the bed and slowly stood, letting your tired body wake up a little bit. Once you were good to go, you shuffled to your room.

After quickly changing into a simple t-shirt and sweatpants, you walked out of your room and made your way downstairs. You let the smell of bacon and eggs guide you to the kitchen.

Once you stepped inside the room, you saw Bobby standing before the stove making bacon and eggs for breakfast.

"Hey!  There she is!" a voice called, and you turned your head to see Sam looking at you with a smile.

Dean, who sat on the other side of the table from Sam, looked up from his newspaper.  When he caught your eyes with his own, he grinned and asked, "I assume you're hungry?"

You eagerly nodded your head.

Bobby set down a plate of eggs and bacon along with a side of toast and milk as he said, "Here you go, munchkin."

You sat down next to Dean and called out a thanks before you began to dig in hungrily. You shoved forkfuls of eggs into your mouth, biting and tearing pieces of bacon off as you glanced up at your family. They were all staring at you. Dean wore an amused expression, Sam wore a slightly concerned but amused expression, and Bobby wore a small smile.

You couldn't help the blush that heated your cheeks as you slowed your eating. Dean seemed to noticed as he commented, "Don't mind us, sweetheart. We're not judging you. We understand that you're hungry."

You smiled at your father and quickly finished eating. You stood and took your plates to the sink as Bobby commented, "And she still has her manners! She behaves better than her own father and uncle!"

"Hey!" Sam called, feigning annoyance.

Dean put a hand over his heart, and gave Bobby an offended look. "I can't believe you would say something like that, Bobby!" he said, putting on a pout.

"Well it's true!" you quipped, grinning.

Sam and Dean just rolled their eyes and glanced at each other, their looks saying, I don't believe them for a second.

Bobby huffed a laugh when you managed to silence the two. He stepped forward and wrapped an arm around your shoulders, giving them a light squeeze for comfort as he began to say, "Now, we need to talk about what we're gonna do 'bout the demon that's out for (y/n)'s head."

Sam's body tensed at the mention of the recent events, and Dean's demeanor completely changed from light and playful to dark and brooding.  You could see Dean's jaw clench as he stared at Bobby with a hard look.

You didn't realize that you had zoned out until Bobby called out your name, "(Y/n), are you all right?" You blinked and looked up at the older man, swallowing thickly as you nodded.

"Well," Sam began as he shifted in his seat. "I say we take a few days off and keep a look out for the demon–"

"And then we go kill the son of a bitch," Dean finished.

Bobby let out a breath before he said, "We can't just barge in there guns blazing, Dean. We need a course of action."

Dean sighed and rubbed a hand down his face. He took a moment to breathe and think clearly before he returned his gaze to Bobby's. "All right, we'll come up with something–"

"I wanna help," you interrupted.

The three men turned to look at you.  You stared back with determined eyes.  Dean looked at you for a moment before he shook his head as he declared, "No."

You let out a huff and whined, "Dean!"

"No, I'm not gonna let you get dragged into this!" he stated with finality.

You rolled your eyes and crossed your arms, sending him a glare. Sam shifted uncomfortably in his chair as he mumbled, "Well, technically she's already dragged into this."

You uncrossed your arms and gestured to Sam with an outstretched arm as you stared at Dean. "He agrees with me!" you exclaimed.

Dean turned to his brother and sent him a glare, murmuring, "Not helping, Sam." Sam held his hands up in and leaned back slightly, showing defeat.

Your father gave the two of you an annoyed sigh as he ran a hand through his hair. He let out a puff of air and moved his gaze back to you. You two stared at each other in silence for a moment.

You blinked innocently and mumbled, "C'mon... I wanna help. You can train me to shoot a gun, use a knife, or, heck, even hand-to-hand combat! I don't care, just let me help."

You glanced around at Bobby and Sam, and they were both staring at you before shifting their gazes to Dean expectantly. Dean mulled the thought over for what seemed like an eternity, though was actually about a minute, before he huffed and answered, "All right, fine. But we're only gonna teach you how to use a gun."

"For now, at least," Bobby added, nodding in approval.

You smiled and walked over to Dean. You sat back down in the chair next to him and wrapped an arm around his torso in a side hug. He responded by wrapping his arm around your shoulders, giving you a light squeeze.

"Thanks, Dean," you breathed.

"Yeah, yeah," he said, though you could hear the slight amusement in his voice. "You know I'm gonna regret making this decision, right?"

You laughed lightly and nodded, saying, "Probably, but I'll try not to give you a reason to regret it."
