they're afraid to reach your heights
they're afraid to enter deep inside you
they're afraid to fall from you to understand how to fall for you
they're afraid to get hurt by you to learn how to relieve pain from you
they're afraid to take that one more step to climb up, to get one step closer inside
they're afraid to evaluate your altitudes
they're afraid to explore your surroundings
they're afraid, because you make them afraid

you make them give up, before even having the thought of beginning,
you present yourself, not as what you are,
or what you'd want to be to them,
but, as this dark, antagonistic aura
slithers into your persona,
you unconsciously transmogrify into
the difference of all their expectations,
leaving them to retreat like the ebb of a tide.
