I gladly returned the smile.

For awhile we just stood there in silence. I had gotten lost in his blue eyes.

"May I come in?" Hayes asked. I was instantly awoken to reality.

"Yeah. Sorry." I mumbled as I opened the door a little bit more so he could come inside. "It's cool." Hayes said. We started walking over to the den.

We sat down and began to work on the project. "So, do you like to write?" Hayes asked out of the blue. I thought nothing of it, just that he was trying to create conversation. "Yeah." I admitted with a bit of a shrug. I started to work on the project again, but I felt his eyes on my face.

I instantly became self conscious. "Why did you ask?" I asked quickly, hoping he'd stop staring at me. "I don't know." Hayes said starting to work on the project again.

Thankfully.

After a little bit longer, I got enough nerve to ask "So, how's things with Lana?" I looked at him and he met my gaze. "Great!" Hayes replied smiling and.... Blushing. I couldn't help but be jealous.

"Good." I said smiling him. Hiding my jealousy was harder than I thought it would be, but he seemed convinced by my facial expression.

I was glad that he was happy with Lana. If she can put that beautiful smile on that perfect face, so be it.

Hayes and I got only one page done, and I was sorta bummed about it. I was hoping to get as much done as possible.

"Want to go to the park?" Hayes asked casually, as we cleaned up. I shrugged. "I don't see why not." I said. He smiled that perfect smile and my heart started to race. "Let's go!" Hayes said grabbing my wrist, and practically dragging me to the park.

When we got there, I saw the person I wanted to see the least.

Lana.

Hayes gave me an apologetic glance and she came over to meet us.

"Babe, look, I'm so sorry I walked out earlier. I was just..." Her voice trailed off when she saw me. "So, you're cheating on me?" She asked, obviously offended. "No! I'm not cheating on you!" Hayes said. She smirked at me "I didn't think so. She'd be such a downgrade." Lana flipped her hair. Hayes gave me another apologetic look and focused his attention back on Lana.

"Babe, let's go do something fun." Lana said grabbing his wrist. "Yeah. You two have fun." I said, trying to sound convincing. "You sure?" Hayes asked. Lana was clearly annoyed now.

"She said it was fine!" Lana snapped.

I jumped a bit at her reaction. I smiled at both of them, and headed back to my place.

When I finally got home, I went to my bedroom and got under the covers. I didn't even bother to change into some pajamas.

My alarm clock woke me up the next morning.

School.

And it's a Monday.

Fun.

*Note the sarcasm*

I climbed out of bed and walked into the bathroom. I took a look into the mirror. I brushed my hair, and curled it. I washed my face, and applied light makeup.

I got dressed and started to walk to school.

*Later in English*

Hayes walked in looking perfect. I smiled at him and he didn't return the gesture. I wonder what's wrong?

Oh well. I'll just ask him later.

When the teacher gave us time to work, he didn't do anything. He just sat there. "Hayes?" I asked. He looked at me with a surprised expression on his face.

"Oh! Sorry, Olivia. I've been zoned out lately." He apologized. I smiled at him. "It's totally fine." I said and we started to talk about random things.

I glanced over at Lana. She wasn't glaring at me like usually. She looked sorta... Scared.

Did she really find me a threat to her relationship with Hayes?

Probably not.

Still, I couldn't help but wonder why she wasn't glaring at me. "Olivia?" Hayes asked. He glanced behind him to see what I was looking at.

"Are you looking at Lana?" He asked me as if it was no big deal. I shook my head and decided to play it off cool. "No. There's just this really cute guy and... Never mind." I said acting a bit embarrassed.

Hayes looked at me. "Who's the guy?"

I couldn't be sure, but it sounded like he had some jealousy in his voice.

"Why do you care?" I asked casually with a small smile.

"I don't." He said looking at the Liam.

Liam was cute. I sorta liked him.

But I like Hayes more.

"If you're checking Liam out-" Hayes started to say but I cut him off. "I'm not! Just drop it!" I said a bit cross.
