Newt's POV

"Newt!"

I drop my bags in the middle of the hall at Heathrow and run towards the source of the voice. My sister flings her arms around me and I turn her around in the air like guys are supposed to do with their girlfriends.

But she's my sister, and I do it anyways.

"Ava," I sigh. "I've missed you so much."

"Aww, Newtie. I missed you too. It's a good thing that you're back."

"Yeah. I'm bloody happy to be home again!" Then she turns her attention towards the man behind me who is managing to carry both his and my bag now. Thomas smiles sheepishly at me when he arrives next to me and Ava.

"Hi. I'm Thomas." He stretches his hand and Ava gladly shakes it.

"I'm Ava, Newt's sister. Nice to meet you." She then says to me: "He's very American." I laugh. Well, he is indeed American.

"Come on, Mum is at home getting ready for dinner tonight." Thomas and I follow her to her car and the ride towards my parent's house is spent talking about the events of the past six months, although not the bad memories I made. Thomas also gets a bunch of questions from my sister. Bloody hell, that woman won't shut up.

"But you love me anyways huh, Newtie," she said when I told her she was talking too much.

"Well that's something we have in common, then," Thomas says. That smooth shuckface. I try to hide the blood that threatens to creep up my cheeks, but Ava laughs.

"You guys are so cute."

After a while, my sister takes the turn into the street where I spent the first years of my life, before moving to the States. The familiar houses make me feel like I'm a little kid again, and I'm bloody excited to see my mum and dad again.

Ava unlocks the door to the house and my mother must have heard us, because she comes running into the hallway, squealing and shouting my name.

"Newt. You're home! I've missed you, Newtie. Oh you're so grown up! My baby is such a handsome man!" She hugs me and kisses my face.

"I missed you too, Mum, but I was just as grown up half a year ago, you know." I smile, but she can't seem to control herself and a small tear slips from her eye.

"Mum, no. Don't cry," I sus her. She looks up at me with big teary eyes, but I wipe away her tears and kiss her forehead.

"I love you, Mum." Our little heart-to-heart gets interrupted by someone else.

"Son, it's good to have you back." I look up to see my dad in the doorway.

"Dad!" I hug him too. Many guys my age are like 'no way, I'm not hugging another dude. No homo', but then I think 'yes homo, and I love my dad, so whatever' I hug my dad tightly.

"I've missed you too, Dad."

Then I pull Thomas next to me and introduce him to my family, Ava grinning from the corner: "Mum, Dad. This is Thomas Greene, my boyfriend." Thomas smiles and kisses my mum's cheek and shakes my dad's hand. My parents smile back at him and I say to them: "I'm going to bring him to what used to be my room and then I'm going to show him the city. Thomas here has never been in London before."

They agree instantly, my mum claiming that we could talk later at supper. I pull him up the stairs and into what used to be my room. It's more tiny than it looked when I was five, but it's something. And it has a bed where Tommy and I could just fit in together, so that's enough.

"You did great down there," I tell him.

"Good that. I was scared that they wouldn't like me, but I think I'm doing alright."
