A Great Accident

A Great Accident: Part 4

Everything went well at the Lester house. Kathryn was practically squealing with delight when the news was spilled on her. "I'm going to be a grandmother!"

Of course, along with all of the excitement there were some questions. "B-but how?" Phil's dad had asked.

"Well, you see when a mummy and a daddy-" Phil began while trying to stifle a laugh.

"I know how babies are made but isn't Dan a boy?"

"There's something called a Carrier which is when a man can get pregnant. I happen to be one of them." Dan told him. After that Phil's dad began to lighten up on the whole situation.

Now the boys are left with one last obstacle to hurdle over, telling their viewers. They both know that after announcing this news they are both going to lose subscribers from homophobes and people who generally thought the whole situation is weird but they also know that those losses in subscribers wouldn't matter. They didn't want to have people who could not accept them for who they are following them and watching their videos anyhow. What they hope is that the majority of their viewers stay with them.

"Should we do it now or wait?" Phil asks Dan as they cuddle each other on Dan's bed. 

Dan touches his stomach as he thought, it's something he started doing after he found out about the pregnancy. It became a thing of his now, even though there is nothing there yet he still likes to feel it. "I don't know. . ." He groans and buries his face in Phil's chest. "I'm kind of tired of telling people now. That's all we've been doing for a week."

Phil begins stroking the side of Dan's face. "It's okay, bear. We can wait a little while before we tell our audience. But. . ." Phil's hand trails from Dan's face to his stomach. "It won't be long before you start showing."

Dan sighs. "I know. . ."

It takes six weeks before Dan decides he's ready to share the news with the internet. "I think it's time." He tells Phil through the phone as he lays on his bed stroking the small bump that is now protruding from his shirt.

"Are you sure? How do you plan on doing this?" Phil asks Dan.

Dan stops caressing and rests his palm on his belly as he tells Phil what he is thinking. "Well, what I thought is that we could get together for this. Since you are the other father it would make sense that you are there to break the news too. I want to do it on my channel since I'm the one carrying our child."

There is a brief silence over the phone for Phil to process the information. "That sounds like a good idea. I think I can come up this weekend then we can film, but that's up to our parents."

"I suppose. I'll ask my mum after we get off and you can call me back or text me when you have a response from either your mum or dad."

"Okay. Bye, Bear."

"Bye." Dan whispers and hangs up his cell. He sighs and rubs his thumb across his abdomen. "Hey, baby, how are you?" 

He decides to stand up and pull up his shirt to study the small bump. Dan caresses the bare skin of his stomach. If he was having any doubts over all of this he doesn't anymore. The growth is obvious and it is all thanks to the child that grows inside of him. In seven months he and Phil are going to be fathers and it's all thanks to what's happening right now.

"There's only a couple thousand people to tell now. But we can do it all in just one video." He tells the baby. "You're going to be such a  big deal to everyone."

"Hey everybody!" Dan starts his video as he and Phil sit next to each other on his bedroom floor. This is the first video he has made in seven weeks. "Today I'm here with Phil."

"Hi." Phil smiles and waves to the camera.

"I'm sorry it's been awhile since I last uploaded but now I'm back with some big news that Phil and I are ready to share with you." Dan shares a smile with Phil. "Are we ready, Phil?"

"I think we are. You said we are."

"So. . . the first thing that we have to come clean about is that Phil and I are in a relationship." Dan begins. "And the reason we have to come out now is for the next big news."

Phil wraps an arm around Dan's waist and pulls him in close. "We have some really big news to share with you, probably the biggest we could ever tell all of you."

Dan could feel a lump in his throat forming. This is it, he's about to tell all of his subscribers. "I'm pregnant!"

"Woah, woah, woah! How did this happen?" Phil jokes as he bursts out laughing.

Dan playfully shoves his boyfriend. "It turns out that I'm a carrier and in case you had no idea what that is it's the term used for men who can bear children." Dan feels the tears brimming his eyes. He wipes them away and continues. "I didn't know I was one until I found out about the baby." Dan lets out a watery chuckle. "And before you ask these are tears of joy. I'm happy. I'm excited. I may be freaking scared, but I'm so lucky to have this." He wipes his tears again. "We're twelve weeks along now."

"We'll keep you posted on this pregnancy." Phil quickly adds in.

Dan looks at Phil. "Will we?" Phil nods. "Okay, we will!"

And as soon as Dan hit "publish" the video went public for anyone's eyes to see. It's done.
