Ch.1*

3x is equal to 5x +y..... My thoughts were interrupted by my phone ringing. I close my math book and look at my phone screen. It was my best friend Emily.
"Hello?" I answer the phone
"Hey what are you doing?" She asked in her cheery voice
"I'm at the library studying" I respond
"That's boring" she laughs
"Not if you want to have a future" me and her are total opposites meaning I actually get good grades while she barely bothers to show up to class
"Well how about me and you go to a party tonight?" She asked. I roll my eyes

"Uh no I have to study for next weeks test" she sighs "come on it's our senior year you have to have some fun" she says
"Okay fine" I give in
"Yay I'll pick you up at 8 and wear something hot, it's a collage party" then she hangs up before I could respond

Great, a collage party on a Friday night. Nothing about that sounds like a good idea. You may think I'm a loser who Doesn't know how to have fun, but I just really care about my future.

When my mom found out she was pregnant with me she was a junior and my father left her when he found out. My mom had to quit school to take care of me and get a job after her mom and dad kicked her out. I'm so scared of turning out like her that I'm doing anything I can to set a nice future for myself.

I gathered my books and walked home.

When I got home my mom was at work, she has 2 jobs and she's almost never home.
I went in my room and got ready for the party. I showered and blow dried my hair. After that I curled it and put on my usual makeup. I went into my closet to find an outfit

I decided on black high waisted shorts, a pink crop top, and white high top converse.

I looked at my phone, it was 7:56 Emily should be here soon. Just then I heard a knock at my door.

Great.
