Chapter 20 - Years of hidden feelings

There was a silence in the room once dad found out that mom heard how he felt. I don't think i've been in a more awkward silence situation before. Imagine if mom felt the same as dad, everything would go back to normal. 

Harry: did you just hear everything i just said?
Pamela: Only the last part, yeah
Abigail: I'll leave you two to have a chat

I got up from the sofa that i was sitting on with dad and walked past mom who was still shocked at what she heard. But, when i said i'll leave them alone, what i really meant was, 'i'll be on the other side of the door, listening in to the conversation'. 

Pamela: Did you really mean what just said there?
Harry: How do you feel?

Just as mom was about to say how she feels, Katherine comes in the front door. She's going to spoil everything. 

Katherine: Why are you standing by the door and not going in?
Abigail: You can't go in there
Katherine: Why not?
Abigail: Mom and dad are having a private conversation
Katherine: so, he's my husband, and that's my living room, i'll go in there if i wish
Abigail: Actually, it's my dad's living, as he brought this place, not you

Katherine wasn't going to listen to me anymore, she walked right past me and straight into the living room, and i followed her inside.

Pamela: I-
Katherine: Whats going on here?
Harry: Kath, your back
Katherine: What was your first clue?
Harry: Where did you go? you were gone for hours
Katherine: out
Pamela: I'm going to Abi's room
Harry: No, wait, Pam
Abigail: dad?
Katherine: what?
Pamela: Yeah, Harry?
Harry: yes or no?
Abigail: mom? 
Katherine: Harry!
Pamela: Yes...
Abigail: Yes, what?
Pamela: I feel the same

We were all standing in the living room, mom staring at dad, and dad staring back at mom. While Katherine was trying to get dad's attention. I was just standing in shock of the whole situation. Mom does feel the same as dad, then why did she leave us over 9 years ago then?

Abigail: Why did you leave then?
Pamela: I had to
Abigail: You didn't, if you felt the same as dad, you would have stayed
Pamela: We were arguing all the time, it wouldn't be fair on you to watch your parents fight
Harry: If you loved me, then why did you walk out?
Pamela: if was the only option
Harry: We could have worked it out
Pamela: I'm sorry for walking out, i'm sorry for causing you hurt and pain for so many years, i'm sorry for not telling you that i love you
Katherine: Harry?
Abigail: Shut up Katherine, can't you tell that they're having a serious conversation? 
Katherine: He's my husband if you don't remember, Abigail 
Harry: Kath, just shh for a minute

And for the second time that night, Katherine had walked out. I don't think she was very happy at what dad had said to her.
But as i turned round from watching Katherine walk out the door, mom was about to walk out as well but dad grabbed her by her arm and kissed her. I was a bit awkward just watching my parents kiss, i wasn't use to this kiss, they haven't kissed each other for over 9 years.
