Day 22
I wake up happy. I don't know why though? Oh yeah. IT'S ALMOST CHRISTMAS!
All though so many things are going on right now and I know more is gonna come I can't keep the smile off my face. I mean think about what happened yesterday. I shouldn't be smiling. But I decided to focus on the good things. Such as my family. Noah. Not hearing any bad news about Becka's state. And the fact that when I got out of the shower Nick texted me to meet him and his wife. I don't have a problem with that. I think I'm finally over him. I've tried to get over him for TWO years and now, I finally got over him.
I get dressed and do my hair. I grab my gloves and scarf. It's snowing out there and yeah it's COLD! So I put on at least 3 long sleeve shirts and the heaviest jacket. I walk out to my car and meet them by the Christmas Tree in Time Square.
"Hi April. Hey Nick. How you guys been?" I hug both of them and we walk to a near bye star bucks. We order. She want and I mean really wanted a blue-berry muffin. I got some hot chocolate. "We've been doing good. So has the baby." I smile.
"Oh yeah so is it a boy or girl?" I ask. They shrug. "We don't know yet. We wanted it to be a surprise." I nod. "So when are you do?" I ask. "Any day now." I nod. "What are the names?"
"Well I want a boy and want to name him Adam." April says. Nick playfully rolls his eyes. "Well I want a girl and I'm gonna name her Winter." I frown. That's a name I always wanted to name My daughter. I just can't believe that he took that from me. Now I'm really hoping that it's a boy. "You okay Zoe? Do you not like the names we picked?" She ask. I smile at her.
"No. It's just that if I were to ever have a daughter I would name it Winter. I told Nick that two years ago when-" I cut myself off. "Never mind it doesn't matter. But I do love the names of course." She smiles but I can see the pity in her eyes. She knew that we used to be in love and so in love that we wanted to have kids one day but that of course never happened.
"So April tell me about yourself." I say. "Well there really isn't-" She stops. "Are you okay honey?" Nick ask. "Yeah just one thing." We nod for her to continue. "My water just broke." Our eyes widen. "Well what are you waiting for! Get me to the hospital!" he shouts. Everyone stares and then realizes. WE ARE DEALING WITH A WOMEN ABOUT TO GIVE BIRTH!
We rush her to the car and rush to the hospital. I'm back here with her. I try to calm her down as her contractions hit. She keeps yelling at him. "God damn it! You are so dead if you do not get me to the hospital right now Nickolas!" She's breathing hard. "Okay April calm down. Here breathe with me April." We take deep breathes. "Yes. Okay that's good."
We finally get to the hospital. A nurse comes and rushes up to us. "Is she about to?"
"Yes!" Me and Nick shout. She starts to grab his hand so hard that it almost looks purple and her knuckles are white. "Nick I swear if you don't get this baby out of me right now I'm going to break you." We rush her to a hospital bed. "Who's your doctor?"
"Um, Dr. Fields."
"Okay I'll call him right up." The nurse says. Then another nurse comes in. "Okay how far are her contractions?" She ask. She starts to set up. "Um I don't know 5 minutes!" I guess. She checks. "Your right. Where's the doctor?"
"On his way over here." The one nurse says. Only 10 minutes later Noah shows up. What the hell? He's there doctor!? Why didn't he tell me about this? He's all dressed up and ready. "Alright when the next contraction hits I need you to get ready to push." He explains totally ignoring me. Not that I'm mad or anything it's just yeah I don't know why.
"Alright start pushing April." She does some pushes. She screams and curses at Nick as he hold her hand. "I'm gonna kill you nick! Why did you do this to me!?" She shouts. "Alright I see the head. Come on April." Only minutes later we hear a cry. "I want to see-AHHH! I thought that was it!" Noah or should I say Dr. Field looks back and sees something. "Looks like you got another."
"W-what? You mean twins?" He nods. After minutes of screaming and yelling the baby comes out. "You did a great job baby. You did an amazing job." He kisses her head. I smile. "Looks like you guys not only have twin but one boy and one girl." They smile. April starts to cry. "C-can I s-see them?" She ask. He nods. He give the boy to April and the girl to Nick. "Looks like you both got what you wanted." They nod.
"What are you gonna name them?" I ask. "Well The boy is going to be Adam Drew Bates." April says. I smile. That's a good name. "And the girl is going to be named December Amelia Bates." I smile. He didn't use Winter. Wonder why. "Zoey?" I turn and see Noah smiling at me.
"What are you doing here? "He ask. I squint my eyes. "I've been here the entire time Dr. Fields." I say. He laughs. "Well sorry I'm focused on my job when things are serious." I nod. "Yeah obviously." I mumble. "What?" I snap my head up to meet his blue eyes. "Uh-um nothing." Out of the corner of my eye I see April and Nick look at each other and then smirk. "So Zoey. You wanna hold December?" April ask. I turn finally breaking eye contact with him.
"Huh? Oh yeah I would love too." He hands me December. She starts crying. I cradle her in my arms. "Shh. It's okay December. Silent night..." I sing the first verse of the song softly and get her to fall asleep. I didn't realize that they were staring. "What?"
"You have an amazing singing voice." April says. "And your really good with kids. You would be a great mother some day." I smile. "Well your are going to be an awesome mother trust me. And your gonna be a good father too Nick." I say. He smiles. "Here. I have somethings I have to deal with. Although never hesitate to call if you need a baby sitter." I say giving back December to her father.
"Of course. Bye Zoey and thanks." April says. I smile. "For what?" I ask standing up. "For being a friend. It's hard for me to make some these days." I frown. "Well it was good to have you as a friend too. We should hang out more often yeah?" She nods. I give her a gentle hug making sure I don't squash Adam. "I'll see you guys later. They nod.
I walk out. One day I want to be in there position. With who? I have no idea. Well maybe I do.

3. 3 MORE FREAKING DAYS MAN! Oh my god! I'm curious how you guys are doing. You guys doing good? Y'all busy with shopping? Busy with family? Yeah I know what ya mean. I love you all hope your having an awesome CHRISTMAS! Love ya!
