Chapter 14: Wedding Crashers pt. 1

Darkness shrouded me as I felt myself being torn away from where I stood. The feeling was like having your flesh torn from your body.

"He is not yet ready, he feels anger, hatred and the lust for revenge." Said a female voice.

"Yes, but we have not any more time. He must be taken." Said a male voice.

"We must wait and let him become purified, lest we shall fail." Said the female voice.

"Then we shall give him more time, he will be taken soon." Said the male voice.

I dropped into a wide open wasteland with Kyrn and Francine standing beside me.

"What happened? You didn't come immediately." Said Kyrn.

I went to speak but felt a tightness in my chest, turned around and threw up all over the ground.

Kyrn patted my back and turned to Francine.

"We have to find Gidion." Said Kyrn.

"But, we're finally free. We can leave and he won't find us." Argued Francine.

"He needs to save his friend, Gidions little gremlin is plotting." Said Kyrn.

"Why do we need to help?" Asked Francine.

"I wouldn't have been able to save you without him. I owe him." Said Kyrn with determination.

Francine looked down, defeated.

I composed myself.

"No doubt, word of our escape has reached everyone on this planet and people will be looking for us. We need to find where the wedding is taking place." I stated.

"And its going to be well guarded, I believe I can warp us through to the event, but we are going to be swarmed in minutes." Said Francine.

"I should be able to deal with that, but Gidion is my main worry." I stated.

"We'll worry about him when it comes time. Lets get going, they're probably going to search the entire planet." Said Kyrn.

We found a small, abandoned hut next to a mountainside and took shelter.

"So, would it be wrong for me to ask who you two are?" I asked.

Kyrn shook his head, "Its okay." He said.

"We are from a planet several solar systems away. A planet called Idora, in our language it means life. Sadly, our planet was suddenly infected with an unknown virus. It killed millions until just the final generations remain, then a ship landed on our planet and the inhabitants on it said that they also knew the virus and made a cure, but the virus had destroyed their planet and left them to leave and find another planet to inhabit. We were on of the first few to volunteer to take the vaccine. It did something to us, but we didn't have the virus anymore. Francine could now create this strange hole that we can warp through and I can see the texture of a grain of sand several miles away." Said Kyrn.

"We've been gone for so long, I think we were just barely seventeen when we left." Said Francine.

"What about you?" Asked Kyrn.

"Well, my planet was destroyed from the inside out by a massive creature that seemed to be incubating inside." I stated.

Its a good thing that its a common practice for the groom to not see nor hear their bride before the wedding, or I think that Alice would have broken down again. Though one things been pushing her on. The news of the royal prison being destroyed.

I sat on a small chair locked in my room with Alice laying on the bed.

"He's going to save us, I know he is." Said Alice.

"He's going to have a hard time with everybody on the planet trying to kill him." I stated.

"Well not us." She said.

"Yeah. He's coming for us. We won't ever have to see these guys again." I stated.

The sun set over the horizon sending orange rays through the sky and into our room.

I turned and looked at Alice. She looked quite beautiful with the orange light shining in her black hair. Very much like a princess locked in a tower.

"What's your relationship with Lucas?" I asked her.

"What? Why..." She asked stuttering her words.

"What's your relationship with him." I asked once more.

"I don't know... we did... kiss." She stated.

"Oh, well I see. Quite a bad girl aren't you. That just makes it more of an influence for him to save us." I stated.

Alice sat on the bed with a bright red face for a while.

"Why don't you like Gidion?" Asked Alice.

"He... he killed my father." I stated.

Aliced looked at me with surprise on her face.

"Really!" She exclaimed.

"Yes, he killed my father a couple years ago, when he decided he was engaged to me. My dad didn't take it too well. They fought, but Gidion fought unfairly, he used the same thing he used when he fought Lucas. Its an orb that he received from his brother. He drains the energy from his opponents with it." I stated.

Alice looked out the window with a hazy look in her eyes. Then her stomach growled. "I'm hungry." She stated.

I stared out through the distance my mouth frozen in a frown.

"It's almost time to go." Said Kyrn as he walked up next to me.

"Let's get ready to go." I said as I turned and walked to the shack.
