My Last Breath

Chapter 3- Trying

Touching my lips, I look up at the confident looking Bruce. Shaking my head, a slight tear comes down, "I'm sorry, I don't feel anything." Sighing, he shrugs "well, at least I tried for once." Heading to class, he looks back at me, shakes his head and walks off. Jesse sees this and walks to Bruce, " so.. anything?"

Shaking his head, Jesse sighs "this isn't like her." Bruce pats his friend on the shoulder, "it'll be alright dude, round up the guys together okay?" Jesse smirks and walks off to class. Looking at the clock, I sigh until Mr. Parker calls on me "Ms. Pane?" Shaking my head "what?" He sighs and explains the question again. Answering it right, he smiles "very good." Carter looks at me and murmurs "pst." Glancing at her, she smiles and hands me a note. Unfolding it, I nod when the light comes on. Headed to Italian, i check my phone. I have texts from Jesse and Bruce. None from Marco. Opening one from Jesse, it reads "look behind you." Raising any eyebrow, he comes up behind me and hugs me from behind kissing my cheek. Screaming, he holds my hand as I turn around "so how are you babe?"

Shrugging, "I've been better," he pulls me to him. Wrapping his arms around my waist, I look up at him. Looking down at me, he whispers, "so tonight is going to be special." Gulping, I nod and walk away. Standing there confused, Jesse strides toward me, "where you going hot stuff, we have the same class." Popping a piece of gum in his mouth, I mumble "right." Glaring at me, he shakes his head and walks to class. Not paying attention in Italian, I check my phone as I see a text written from Marco. "I want to see you tonight."

Looking at Jesse, he winks at me as I type "sure, where you want to meet at?" Responding a few minutes later, I see"my place, I'll pick you up at 7." Smiling, I go back to work until lunch is announced. Walking to lunch, Bruce spots me and so does Jesse. Nodding at each other, they both walk in my direction as Bruce licks his lips. Bruce gets to me and smiles "hey Ash, I hear you're not feeling well." Jesse walks up and nods "I'm sorry to hear that baby." Rolling my eyes, I chuckle "y'all are weird, and I'm fine. What are you talking about?" Bruce grabs my arm and leads me outside. My stomach rumbles as he leads me to his black truck. Jesse helps me in and gets in the passenger seat. Bruce gets in the drivers seat and starts the engine. Looking around, I close my eyes "where are we going Jess?" He smirks, "oh don't worry about that, we'll make you like it one way or another." Gulping, I scratch my neck as we drive off. Turning on the radio, I smile as my favorite song comes on. Softly singing the words, Jesse hears it and chuckles "you have a lovely voice Ash." Nodding thanks, I look out the window and sigh.
