Back at school, I hang out with Jake more and more. He always makes me laugh and is a true gentleman. During lunch, he sits down next to me and nudges my arm "hey."
Unwrapping my burger, I smile "hi," and take a bite. A few minutes go by without any conversation, but he breaks the ice. "So, last night huh?"
Swallowing my food, I nod "it was great, I had a lovely time Jake." He nods, "me too." Looking down at my food, he notices "everything alright Ash?" Nodding, I lightly sigh and get up. "I'm going outside."Walking outside, I kick some rocks and go to the bleachers. Leaning on a metal pole, I close my eyes and listen to the wind blow through the trees.
"Ashely?"
Opening my eyes, I hear the crunch of grass as I look at him "oh, what do you want?" Wrapping his arms around my waist, he rests his head on my shoulder, "nothing, I just came to see you." I sigh, "but don't you have a class right now?"
Bruce looks at me, "it's my off day today, so it's all good." I nod and trace his ear, "I'm sorry about-""Last night, I know. I am to, I guess I just got a little jealous," he steps in front me of. Blushing, I smile, "I just had to do something." Spitting his gum out, he runs a hand through his hair and looks down, "I see that. But I just wanted to let you know that I still care about you."
Eyes brightening, I smile and kiss his head, "me to." Yawning, he looks up at the clear sky and grabs my hand, "such a beautiful day, isn't it." I look up and nod as he looks down at me, "so you and Jake aren't?"
Shaking my head, I sigh "no, but he really is a good guy though. You can learn something from that man." Laughing, he embraces me and rubs my back. Closing my eyes, I slightly smile and bite my lip, "you're always warm bro, you're like a walking heater," I giggle. He makes a face and thumps my forehead, "it has its advantages."
"Whatever." He holds my cheeks and whispers "I love you, you know that right?"
Nodding, I close the space between us and wrap my arms around his neck. "I love you to," as I'm inches away from his lips. At the last second, I pull back and smirk "catch me if you can dork."
"Ok, now you're really gonna feel my power this time," he laughs and walks toward me. Running backward, I playfully scream as he touches my arm. Going over to the nearest tree, I hide behind it and breathe heavy."Gotcha!"
Wrapping his arms around my torso,he picks me up and swings me around. I laugh and lean my head back as he switches to bridal style. Dangling my feet, he smiles "you're so light girl, you're like a marshmallow." I chuckle and poke his stomach, "it has its advantages." Clearing my throat, I hum a tune and start to sing softly. Hearing this, Bruce looks at me and I stop, "sorry."
"No, no; keep going. You have a lovely voice," he winks. "Aw, thank you," I smile and sing again. Bruce cuts in and my mouth drops open, "woah, you can sing?!"
He laughs, "yeah, it's a gift."
Rolling my eyes, I ask "so, how do you like LSU?"
"Uh, it's good. I made a lot of friends. I just miss my friends. You?"
Still carrying me, I nod, "it's good I guess, Jesse and my ex are dating now." He raises an eyebrow, "him and Marco?! That's unbelievable."
"Exactly what I'm thinking dude, but I have missed you. A lot actually," I cover my face. He chuckles and peels my hands away, "it's okay if you missed me Ash, I'm not judging or anything."Jakes POV
Looking at my food, I sigh and close my eyes, "I should have told her." Wondering what was taking Ashely so long, I get up and push open the doors. Walking out into the sunlight, I spot her and.. Bruce again? They were in each other's arms laughing and talking. Well Jake old buddy, this means war. Shaking my head, I huff and walk down to the bleachers.
Ashely's POV
Noticing someone was coming, I look at Bruce "put me down." Setting me down on the ground, I brush the grass off me and look up to see a slightly pissed off Jake.
"Uh, can I help you?"
Bruce looks at Jake and raises an eyebrow.
"I just came to tell you that you left your lunch.. so"
Rolling my eyes, Bruce looks at me "you left your lunch Ash." Pushing him, I laugh and walk toward Jake, "let's go." He nods and I jump on his back, "to the commons."
He laughs and Bruce roll his eyes as me and Jake walk toward the commons.
