Looking at a sleeping Bruce, I smile and snuggle against him. He mumbles in his sleep and pulls me closer. Glancing at the clock, I close my eyes "4:30." Shaking him a little, I whisper "Bruce, wake up."
"5 more minutes," he turns his head to the side. Rolling my eyes, I move his hand and get up. Redoing my hair, I smooth my jeans and look around for my shoes. Grabbing them, I sit on the bed to put them on. "Ash- what are you?" A messy haired Bruce looks at me."I'm going out, it won't take long ." Sitting up, he cracks his neck and groans. "Where are you going?"
"Nowhere that concerns you," I state.
"Oh, I see. Well go out then." Laying back on the bed, I open the door and walk out. Grabbing my brown jacket, I walk downstairs and grab his keys. Stuffing it into my front pocket, I make sure not to get noticed as I quietly slip out the door.
"Ok Ashely, it's time to go see an old friend," I grin and look around for any mode of transportation. Considering Bruce's black BMW, I raise an eyebrow. Should I go for it? Technically, I'm old enough to drive so why the hell not, right? Walking to his car, I pray that he has the top down. Being a sunny day like it is, who wouldn't have the top down? To my luck, it is; so I hop in and start the car. Hearing the engine come to life, I smile to myself and pull out. "Hey, wait up!" I stop as he hops in and I drive off. Driving down the neighborhood, I sigh loudly as we arrive out the house, "damn it!" I smack the steering wheel in frustration.
"What is it?"
"I forgot a knife, that's what." Blowing hair out of my face, he digs into his pocket until he finds his utility blade and flips it to a knife. I grab it, as he pulls another knife out of his pocket.
"It's a smaller knife, but it's very efficient," he states. Nodding, we both get out and he locks the car.Scanning our surroundings for any sign of his parents, we go around back and start working on the back door. Hearing it snap, he unlocks it and we go upstairs. Being as quiet as we can be, I hear moaning coming from his room and walk toward the door. Stuffing one hand in his pocket, he grabs my arm as I turn around. "You positive about this? I'm a lover, not a fighter Ash." Exhaling, I tuck a few strands of hair behind my ear, "yes, he needs to get what he deserves once and for all."
Sighing, he nods and puts his ear on the door trying to hear if anybody is in the room. "Oh Marco," he says and kisses him. "You know I love you Jess," he winks. Recognizing the strange voices, I roll my eyes and chuckle "I knew I left him for a reason." Bruce holds my shoulder, "if we are going to do this, we better do it now Ash." Staring at the door, I clench my hands into fists and grasp the knife real tight. I could hear Bruce whispering "go!" as I shut my eyes. What was stopping me from actually hurting the one I once loved?
