My life has been getting tiring has of late. Things used to happen all the time and now it's just stopped. I feel like I'm at a stand still. Four years have passed since my older sister Mindy found her mate and moved out. Now it's just me and my parents still in the house.

I love my parents, but I can't help missing my siblings. Preston has two kids now so I can't blame him for not being around often. Mindy has a two year old girl now too. I know I shouldn't be jealous of their new lives,I am though. Even my family friends have all paired up too.

I highly doubt they'll end up actually being mates, but at least they had hope. I haven't had that in a while. My eighteenth birthday is coming up and I'll be crushed if I don't meet my mate right away. I could use a little adventure in my dull life. Maybe I could go on a road trip after I graduate.

-Come over to Anissa's house. There's someone I'd like for you to meet.-

"I don't need you setting me up.",I sighed changing the direction of my car.

If I was being honest I was lonely and a part of me appreciated my mom trying to set me up. It wasn't that I was a loner who had trouble with guys, but growing up with the same dating pool made things hard. How was I ever supposed to look at a boy I've seen do the grossest things when we were kids anything other than gross? Just because their physical appearance has changed didn't mean my memories did. I'll never look at some of the guys I went to school with differently than I already did.

"It took you awhile, did you get lost?",my mom asked after meeting me at the door.

No I just drove slowly so I didn't have to meet your good intentions head on.

"No, just traffic."

"Okay.",she took my hand and guided me further into the house.

"Do you remember us ever speaking of Easton?"

Easton was a sore topic for the four close-knit families. None of us kids really knew what exactly happened, but we got the vibe. None of us ever asked questions, especially when something reminded the adults of him. We all understood that Easton was to remain a mystery to us. We didn't want to upset our parents with whatever it was that hurt them in the past.

"I'm your aunt Annabelle and this is your other aunt Jill."

Annabelle and Jill were smiling at a girl around my age surrounded by the adults. Did-did my mom think I was a lesbian!? When have I ever showed lesbian tendencies? I've called a girl hot before sure, but that was only because I was acknowledging her hard work to look that way. What the hell was my mom thinking!?

"Mom, I'm not-"

"That's Easton's daughter. She's Alpha Blake's and Oliver's niece."

"What?"

"She's almost the same age has you.",she turned to me with a sad smile,"Would you mind befriending her? She's gone through so much already. I think she needs someone in her corner."

I nodded my head still stunned that Easton had a daughter,"Why isn't he with her?"

"Honey,he was-he's no longer. Promise you won't mention it in front of her."

"I promise."

If she didn't want me to mention it in front of the girl that must mean it's more than,"he's no longer." Death is obviously a tense subject, but there had to be more to it. Was he killed? Maybe the girl was here to ask us to help find his murderer. I was asking for an adventure before I got here and here she is.
