A2| 04 Monday
I was sun bathing in my back yard when Linda told me Minx was heading over to Alpha Blake's. Today she was going to ask about her grandparents. I already knew they weren't in the picture. They don't even live in Alpha Blake's territory. After what happened they distanced themselves more from pack life. Now they live with the humans.
"Who is she to the Alpha?"
"Family."
"Yeah,but-"
"It doesn't matter,Linda."
I didn't want to talk behind my friend's back. I don't care if I've known Linda longer, she should know better. Minx's business was her own. Linda shouldn't be worrying herself with it.
"Why are you being so...?"
"I just don't think you should be so nosey."
Linda was always one to gossip. She felt the need to know everything about everybody. Some people said it was because she was raised by a single father, but that was no excuse. She knows what it's like to go through hard times. She used to be bullied by nosy people.
"Fine! I don't want to sun bathe with you anyway!"
"It was your idea.",I shrugged.
Linda thought it would be a good idea to catch some rays while we still could. It was going to start getting cold soon. She'll get over her tantrum soon if not that's okay too. Some friends aren't meant to be there forever. I'll get over it if I need to. I'd prefer to stay friends though.

-Can you sleep over?-Minx was staring at the small paper in her hand when I walked in. Alpha Blake told me to be careful when I talked to her. He said that she didn't take finding out about her grandparents well. It was completely understandable to be upset at her grandparents' failure at parenting. I'll do what needs to be done and nothing more.
"Is that their number?"
She nodded.
"Do you want me to dial the numbers in for you?"
She handed me the paper and her phone slowly never taking her eyes off of it. Would she be able to handle it? Has her friend should I stop her from causing herself more pain? I looked into her focused eyes before I started tapping in the numbers from the paper. She wanted to know more about her dad and this was a big part.
I handed her the phone,"Hello."
"Your son is dead.",she spoke just above a whisper.
My enhanced hearing allowed me to hear the other side by concentrating.
"What?",her voice cracked.
"You're too late."
A muffled voice could be heard on the other side.
"Who do you think you are telling my wife something like that!? You have no right!"
"I'm your granddaughter."
There was a long pause,"That can't be."
That's right bitch, she's your granddaughter!
"I wanted to tell you personally that my father is dead. I want you to know that you'll never get a chance to fix the things you did wrong. If you couldn't handle being parents you shouldn't of put yourself in that position. You two ruined my father's life! His mate just added to the pain you gave him."
I bet that hurt, but that is what they say about truth.
"We-"
"Don't try to defend yourself. you know that you did wrong by him. He was your son and you betrayed his love for you. Did you ever truly love him? Because you never acted like you did and now it's too late."
Both of them started crying.
"Your son is dead.",Minx hung up abruptly.
I grabbed Minx's hand has she looked at nothing specific. Calling her grandparents was a bad call to make considering her healing process. Hearing their voices set her back several steps. Her tears were more out of anger than sadness at the pain they caused her dad. She was starting to doubt herself.
From what she's told me her dad and her were always close. It must have been hard to hear from Alpha Blake that he didn't have the same. His parents were probably the reason why he made sure they had that relationship. No matter what happened to him,Easton would always be a good man. Minx should be proud of how strong he was.

-Sorry,I understand now.-I looked over at Minx who was slowly crying herself to sleep. She's only been here for four days and I already prefer her to Linda. I got on the bed and started to rub her back to calm her down. It always calmed down Linda when she had one of her crying days. Was it sad that my friend cried so much that I knew exactly what to do when someone was upset?
Of course no one knew that Linda was such a cry baby. To everyone else she was a confident girl who didn't let being raised by one parent stop her. Only I knew that she was overly sensitive. I feel bad with whoever her mate turns out to be. He or she is going to have a lot to deal with.
Perhaps they'd be able to make her confront her fears and control her emotions. We may have been friends, but a mate would be the only one who could help her and give her exactly what she needs. She'll need someone strong for that. Although I'm not always happy with Linda I want that happiness for her. Her dad also deserved to know that he could safely give her away to her mate.

-It's okay.-I closed my eyes beside Minx in her bed thinking about my life once again.
Without even knowing it she's given me something to look forward to. Minx has made me realize my life isn't that dull because that's what she made it. She's given me a purpose to be a better friend and person. My life wasn't going to get better just by wishing it. I had to make my life the way I wanted it.
