Part 1

I was beyond angry at my family's betrayal. They assumed because I'm their only daughter that offering me will save their hides. No one can be sure that their plan would work. Rogues aren't ones to negotiate with. The fact they're willing to serve me on a silver platter says a lot about their love for me.

Sons were common for Alphas. When I came along they threw a celebration in my honor. Alphas from far away places came to see the miracle for themselves. It was considered a show of one's power to be gifted with a daughter. Some gift I turned out to be.

Now they were using me to their advantage. Did they not care that the rogues will most likely use me to their own advantage as well? Many wanted to mate me because of the power I held. To have pups with an Alpha's daughter insured great strength. Thank goddess I couldn't be taken unless our wolves were compatible.

That doesn't mean they won't try. I wasn't expecting romance where I was going. I don't blame the rogues,it's a smart move on their part. No matter how strong my pack was the rogues were stronger. Nobody knows how they got their power.

Most assumed that witches and vampires were involved. If you believe the scary bedtime stories rogues originated from either the goddess' jealous lover or one of her children who turned away from her. Both stories have scared young pups into behaving regardless of their truthfulness. I myself like to think that the rumors are true and the rogues held power simply because their wolves are strong. I'd prefer they be honorable warriors who live by their own code,it made it easier.

"You're blowing this up to more than it has to be.",my brother said has he guided me down the hall.

"Has my oldest and closest brother I assumed you'd rather go to war than be a coward."

"We can't fight and all live."

I'd rather die fighting for my people than to be a coward.

"If that's what it takes to keep our honor."

"You'd sacrifice our people's lives for yours? Where's the honor in that?"

"We shouldn't be bowing to them."

"We're–you're saving our people,Kathleen."

"At what cost?",I opened the door.

All of my siblings were gathered in the room. I can tell by their faces that they too had a hard time sleeping. Some of them tried to stand strong, but it didn't hide obvious tears. My father taught us all to be brave and stand strong against our enemies. I've never known him has a hypocrite until now.

"They are here.",my father's beta informed us.

I felt their power the instant they walked in. It was frightening how they held so much dominance. If I was a weaker wolf I would already be bowing in submission. Three of them stood firm before us. No one dared look them in the eyes.

"Only three men?",I asked not afraid like the others.

My life has it is will end with the rogues dead or alive. What did I have to fear? My family is trading my life for the sake of our people. Challenging my new acquaintances was the least I could do. Maybe if I'm lucky they make my death quick, perhaps even in front of my family.

"You doubt our capability?",the one in the middle asked.

My mother sent a quick glare my way,"Kathleen has a strong will you'll have to forgive her."

"I don't have to do anything."

"My apologies, I only meant that our daughter has a mind of her own."

I could see that she was scared by the way she clutched my father's hand. She should be more than just scared, ashamed would be a better fit. I was her only daughter after all. Has a mother she should at least be putting up somewhat of a fight. Did I mean nothing to them?

"And what do you think Kathleen?"

"I think we should leave soon. The journey to my new life must be long.",my eldest brother held my arm in a tight grip.

"You don't want to say goodbye?",the one on the left asked.

I moved my arm out of my brother's grip,"I've said all I have to."

"Kathleen.",my father warned.

"I suggest we leave now.",I walked toward the three men,the man on the right grabbed my arm.

He nodded,"Before that",he moved away from me toward my eldest brother effectively stabbing him through the chest,"If there is any betrayal, you have six more sons."

"No! I change my mind! Honey do something!",my mother panicked looking to my father for answers he wasn't willing to give.

I stared my father in the eyes,"It's already been done."

We made our way silently to a guarded SUV. Four rogues to escort on Alpha daughter. It seemed fitting and yet alarming. Did they plan on complications to arise? I surly didn't plan on resisting them.

In fact I decided that this was my chance to learn about the mysterious rogues. My loyalty was no longer with my traitorous family, I was on my own. It was my time to learn how to survive. The rogues were who I belonged to now. My life is no longer my own.

"I was expecting more of a struggle.",the one that was originally on the left spoke after a long silence.

"I am not like those cowards."

"You do not wish to still be with your family?",the guard asked.

"It is safer to be with four rogues than to be with people who would easily trade my life for theirs."

The leader laughed,"You may soon be a great asset to us."

Did I really want to be worthy of respect from a rogue? What would I have to do? Who would I have to kill? What morals would I have to push to the side? Would it be my only means to survival?

"I will do what needs to be done."
