"So, about your career...." he adds.
"Yeah, I had this whole big idea about moving here, and then everything will just take off from there. Unfortunately, the part about everything taking off is a little harder than I thought."
"Seems like that's how it is out here. The town is either filled with big successes or crushed dreams. Nothing in between."
I nod my head and frown towards the table. The waiter brings out our food and drinks, then we eat. After we finish, he pays for us both and I thank him.
"Well it was really nice to talk to someone so down to earth." he says.
"Ha. Anytime!" I laugh.
He laughs too. Then slips a piece of paper in my hand. Then leaves. I'm still in too much of a daze to even open the paper to find what's inside. It's probably some cute remark, like "thanks for being my walking buddy". But when I open it up, I find his phone number inside with "Josh" written underneath.
