By the time I leave the new studio, which Randy insists I call my "Music House", it's dark out. We aren't even done with the first song yet, but about three fourths way done. The song I made with Danny only took one day. Yet I'm not complaining because the song is deeper with Randy.
With Danny, the song was "okay" but I could them headed down a road of cheesy coffee house love tunes. But with Randy, the song has so much of a deeper meaning. And not just about relationships. About topics that are relevant to today's society, like bulling and same sex marriage. I think that's more important for a twelve year old to be learning about than love, boyfriends, and relationship problems.
I get home and take a cold shower, well...it started that way. But then it got too cold to stand and I has to turn the handle to warm. I stood in there for about 10 minutes of unnecessary time. Just thinking of the days events. It's been a rocky road, but I think I have a stable studi- I mean, "Music House" now. I get out of the shower, careless of my dripping wet hair and slip on my pajamas. I yank out a warm fluffy blanket and my favorite book. I toss them on the couch in the living room as I make tea with honey. Once it's cooled off I bring into the living room and sit on the couch. I slip the blanket over top of me, instantly creating warmth, and remove the book mark from my book.
Right as I begin reading, I hear a knock on the door. Ugh. Really? Right when I get comfortable? I return the bookmark to its same page as before and move the blanket aside. As I stand up I realize that my hair was still soaking wet. I grab a hair tie off my nightstand and put my hair in a high bun to keep annoying, wet strands of hair from touching my neck. I walk to the front door and swing it open in a bit of a bad mood, but once I see Josh there, a smile replaces my recent status.
"Hey" he smiles
"Hi!" I say in a happy, yet confused voice.
"I just was passing by and thought I would stop. After all, I haven't seen or heard from you in 3 days." he says.
My phone! I completely forgot about telling anyone about what happened, therefore know one would know why I was too busy to talk.
"I'm sorry." I say. "I've been really busy. And have a lot to tell you." I sigh
"It's okay" he tells me. I gesture for him to come inside and he does. He gives me a hug and kisses me very briefly. "Rough few days I'm guessing" he laughs says as he scans me in my pajamas.
"You could say that" I giggle back.
"Were you sleeping?" he asks.
"No, I had actually just sat down to read for a little while." I say as I point to the living room.
"Oh, do you mind if I join you?" he asks with a smile.
"No, that's fine" I say as we make our way back to the living room.
"Do you.....want a book or something?" I say
"No, that's fine" he says as he sits down next to where I was sitting on the couch. I resume my spot and put the blanket on. But making sure it was covering both of us this time. I tell him the whole story. How Danny talked me off and how James came to my rescue with the slip of paper. Then how I spent a long time searching for the perfect place, then found my "Music House". He of course has the same reactions as me and comments on parts of my story. It all felt great. To get it off my chest. Especially with him, I feel like I can tell him anything.
He then tells me about his day and recent events. I learn things about his new upcoming film and about his required diet and work out regimen for it. I was so rapped up in telling him my story, that I barely even noticed his bleach blonde hair. It looks very unnatural and doesn't complement his face as well as being a brunette. But he's still cute.
"It's not the final color yet" he adds as he runs his fingers through his hair. He leans in close and looks me in the eyes. I kiss him and we both laugh. I turn my body so that it's no longer facing him, but now in its original spot from earlier. I open up my book and begin reading again. He rests his head on my shoulder and with the hand I'm not using to turn the pages, I run my fingers through his unnatural hair.
