Hey everyone! I am SOOO sorry for this late update! Here are my excuses for why I haven't updated since February... first I got writer's block with this story then I was lucky enough to get a long term substitute assignment at a wonderful middle school that lasted through the last two months of school. I was kept super busy during that time, but I did love every minute of it! :) At the end, I had to start focusing on getting a teaching job for next year and I have awesome news!! I got a job for next year! I'll be teaching sixth grade reading! The job is in another county about an hour away from my parent's house (where I live now), so I've been busy these past couple of weeks, looking for a place to live and getting ready to move out of my parents house (finally!). I can officially sign my lease on July 10th and I plan to move on the 11th!

I've been working on this chapter off and on, but it has been hard and I really think this chapter isn't my best, but I wanted to give you guys something! Words cannot describe how awesome I think you guys are for putting up with my lack of regular updating! :)

I still can't believe this story has over 239,000 reads!

Oh, I also have an ask.fm account: http://ask.fm/sarabeth120. So be sure to check it out and ask me a question if you want! Please make the questions appropriate! I will not answer them if they aren't! :)

"WHAT?" I jerked out of his grip and turned to stare at him. I did this so fast that I nearly gave myself whiplash.

I winced as my loud outburst hurt my now very sensitive ears. I was going to have to get used to my heightened senses.

"But – but, I don't think that's very fair since she's got fifty years on me!" I whispered; though, I still felt like I was practically screaming, "I'm not fighting her. The bitch will certainly kill me!"

"It's not my rules, Jessica, it's the King's." Tristan explained, "He has it in place so people don't do exactly what I did. He doesn't like random vampires being made without his permission."

"Well, I don't believe for a second that Annabelle was the last vampire you created." I snarled.

"She wasn't."

That admission made me pause to stare at him for a few seconds, "What?"

"I changed Derek about twenty years ago."

"Then why the hell am I not fighting him?" I asked. Not that I wanted to fight anyone, but he was younger than Annabelle was and therefore, he may have been easier to go up against.

"Because he's dead."

"How –?"

I couldn't even get the question out before he answered, "I'm betting that either Christophe or Annabelle killed him, but I'm pretty sure it was Annabelle since she would know that if I was forced to, I would change you and she also knew how Julian felt about random vampires being made without his permission."

"That bitch." I spat, "Well, if she thinks that I'm going to be an easy fight then she's got another think coming."

"That's my girl," he grinned at me.

"When are we leaving?" I asked.

"Not until the sun sets," he replied, "And that is several hours away."

A quick glance at the clock revealed that he was right; it was still several hours before the sun would completely set and I could actually venture outside without burning to death.

"How the hell am I supposed to sleep now?" I asked, "Knowing that I'm going to have to go up against that fucking psycho bitch?"

"Jessica," he started, "You're going to be fine. Annabelle may be older than you, but you have something that she doesn't have."
