Hey! So sorry for the late update! Summer break was crazy busy. I was lucky enough to go on a cruise and had a blast! Tried to catch up on my reading, binged watch my favorite TV shows and just relax. The school year has been a bit crazy, but since this is my second year, I have a better idea of what I am doing, so it is going a lot better this year! Thank you so much to all my readers. You are all so awesome for being so patient with me! I'll shut up now, so you can read the chapter! :)
Song Choice: Dark Paradise by Lana Del Ray
I came back to consciousness slowly.
If the fact that I was tied to a cold table hadn't made me realize something was wrong than being tied down with heavy silver chains burning holes in my skin certainly did the trick.
I jerked my eyes open to study my surroundings; only to discover that I was in a pitch black room. Even with my vampire sight, it took several seconds for my eyes to adjust enough for me to see.
I was in what appeared to be, a torture chamber. Knives, clubs and switches lined one wall while various other forms of torture machines were scattered around the room. I didn't have much time to really study my surroundings because my eyes fell on an outline of person standing in the farthest corner of the room. The broad shoulder and height proved it was male, but I didn't know who it was until he spoke.
"Good, you're awake." the male voice that spoke from the darkness made my blood run cold because I knew exactly who that voice belonged to.
The room was suddenly flooded with light that momentarily blinded me. It took a few seconds for my eyes to adjust to the sudden brightness. Once I could see clearly, I opened my eyes and saw Christophe standing above me with an absolutely psychotic smile on his face. "I was starting to wonder if you would ever wake up after seeing your precious Tristan get his head ripped off. And, in case you were wondering... no, he did not survive that; no vampire can survive a beheading."
I tried to respond to that, but that was when I realized that my mouth was currently covered in duct tape preventing anything coherent from coming out of it.
My mind was racing a mile a minute; not wanting to believe his words. Tristan just couldn't be dead. Especially not after I just accepted him.
I was suddenly in pain as the tape that was covering my mouth was ripped away, taking some skin with it.
I licked my extremely dry lips and took a few deep breaths before I spoke, "You're lying."
Christophe snorted, "Now... why would I lie?"
"You're a psycho, so how the hell am I supposed to know what goes through that crazy head of yours?" I spat.
"I'm the crazy one, hmm?" he cocked his head to the side and gave me a wicked grin, "I'm not the one who fell in love with her kidnapper and rapist am I?"
I glared at him and the low blow he just delivered.
"I still think you're a psycho."
"Oh, I don't deny that, sweetheart, just you and I aren't much different... it takes a special kind of person to fall in love with the her kidnapper and torturer just like it takes a special person to be as a crazy as me."
"I'm not like you. At all." I spat, "Now untie me."
He grinned at me, "Now... why would I do something that stupid?" he asked, "My brother is dead and as his most recently changed vampire, a lot of his power has been absorbed by you which makes you a hell of a lot more powerful than a newbie vampire should be. Luckily for me, silver can hold the most powerful of vampires so you aren't going anywhere until I say so."
