Chapter 21

It was Saturday, and we were driving to my local middle school. We were doing a meet and greet, and watching a few school plays. I was super excited because I hadn't been there is forever. We arrived to my old principle Dr. Rush standing outside waiting on me. "Hey hope how are you?" She asked. "I'm good, this is Tyler my fiancée."
Tyler shook her hand, and she led us into the school. Everything was still the same. Old roof, old chairs, old walls. But there was something that caught my eye.
It was a metal plaque with my old teacher Mr. Mayfields face on it. "What is this?" I asked. She walked up and took a look at it. "Oh...Mr. Mayfield passed away two years ago, and we just thought it was the right thing to do to dedicate the library to him." She replied. My heart sank, and I kissed my hand and touched the plaque.
We then made our way into the gym. "This is where y'all will be doing your meet and greet. There was no money involved in the showing up part, but we will be sure to pay you."
I nodded, and we set up our table.
"I'll be right back." I told Tyler, and made my way back to the library.
We used to meet for the news crew every morning, so I walked into the news room. "I made it Mayfield. I did what you always told me I could do. Even though it was a bumpy ride. Thank you for always believing in me and putting up with my stupidity. And my crippledness." I chuckled at that last part.
"But I wish you were still here, so I could thank you in person. You will always have a special place in my heart. Always." Tyler peaked around the corner and slowly clapped. I wiped my tear and walked out. "Did you hear any of that?" I asked. "Every word darling." He replied hugging me tightly.
We made our way back to the gym and sat down at the table.
"Alright let's do this BITCH!" I yelled. Tyler glared at me. "What, I can't get in trouble for it now."
He smiled and we started the meet and greet.
